You guys, thank you so much for the comments on my last blog entry. I read some of them early this morning, while getting Alyssa settled back into bed (she woke up at 4am, vomiting the most horrid vomit ever vomited. Seriously, imagine partially digested frosted flakes, chicken and potatoes simmering in a hot stew of curdling milk and sour stomach acids for 12+ hours. It made the smell of normal vomit seem heavenly in comparison!).
I never, ever would have thought I was having a panic attack. I don’t recall any type of trigger. The kids were in bed, and I wanted to read for a little bit before going to bed myself. The weird breathing issue, cold feeling and hot, flushed feeling in my face and also my chest came on out of nowhere. It was awful. I’ve had the same thing happen a few times when I’d be laying in bed, trying to go to sleep… experiencing that while laying down was not very pleasant.
I did some brief reading on panic/anxiety attacks a few minutes ago, and the symptoms I had last night definitely match up with most of the symptoms described as being a panic attack. What can I do to stop them? Or lessen them? I guess I’ll start jotting down whenever they happen, and if it seems really frequent I’ll ask my doctor. I know next to nothing about panic attacks.
Alyssa is asleep right now, in our bed, since her bedclothes are in the washer and on their third pre-wash/sanitizing temperature water/extra rinse cycle. After we got her settled on the couch this morning, around 4am, she watched cartoons for a while before falling asleep. Dan was up early this morning to mow the lawn before going to work, and he said she was up for a while talking to him, bu then she fell back asleep.
Ryan… I guess he’s over the worst of this bug. He is still having diarrhea, and in typical boy fashion laughs uproariously every single time he goes (sharting sounds and all that). I’m not laughing at the amount of baby wipes and butt cream I’m going through. :dead: I’ve been doubling his cloth diapers to soak up most of the mess, and it seems like between his bedclothes and diapers and Alyssa’s bedclothes, I’m doing laundry every few hours. I’m almost out of detergent.
Anyway, my new printer arrived this morning, so now that I’m caught up on laundry for the time being, Ryan is freshly changed, and my hands are freshly washed and the house is freshly sanitized, I’m going to go open it up and play with my new toy.

As far as panic attacks go I just avoid extreme situation like rollercoasters or the jump out and scare you parts of movies. Haha. In more personal situations it’s hard to know when they’re coming and hard for me to avoid. In your case I would ask your doctor. It’s a little different for everybody.
And that hat is awesome. ;)
I was actually going to say Ryan’s onesie makes that picture 1000% more awesome, heh heh.
I hope you’ll go to the doctor about the panic attack. That’s a little scary. I don’t think I’ve had one before, and if I have I probably associated it with stress. I’d just go take a nice bath or at least lie down for awhile next time it happens.
Take care Jenn!
I don’t know much about them myself but I know a little from my family… your diet can have a lot to do with it. Don’t have too much caffeine comes to mind but this is a good article about it: http://tinyurl.com/3no95g
hahahha love the hat..aww they do look sick…their little faces are all red
hope that they all start feeling better soon.
1.Big thank you to Kelley for that article. I have panic or anxiety attacks and I did not know that food had anything to do with it. Mine don’t come with any scary part of movies or anything like that, mine are strictly situational. That’s what they called it, situational anxiety. For the most part it is under control, but they suck when they happen. Jenn I always feel like I have an elephant on my chest and I wonder if my heart or head will explode first. The cool air does seem to calm me a bit.
2. Holy Cute Picture. Please pull that out when he gets his first girlfriend and show her!
Haha yeah, the hat does it. I hope they start getting better soon, because otherwise, that’s quite the bug you guys have.
