Choosing crib bedding

When I was pregnant with Alyssa, and then again with Ryan, I couldn’t wait to find out the gender so that I could pick out coordinating crib bedding for the baby’s bedroom. For Alyssa, I was undecided for the longest time, and then after she was born we kept her in one of several bassinets that Daniel’s grandmother gave us. When she did finally move to a crib, she was several months old, and I still didn’t find anything that I really liked. We eventually settled on a blue, teal, pink and purple fish themed crib bedding set. It went well with the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders mobile that we had on the crib.

With Ryan, I knew right away what I wanted for a bedroom theme, regardless of the gender: Classic Pooh. Between our gift registry, gifts from friends and co-workers of Dan’s, and what we bought ourselves, Ryan had everything Classic Pooh, from his curtains to the light switch cover. The only Classic Pooh thing he didn’t have was a wall border, and that’s because I ordered Classic Pooh wall decals online, and so the border was a moot point.

He’ll be two in a few months, and has been out of a crib since October, but many Classic Pooh items remain. In fact, the only Classic Pooh things that aren’t around are the crib furnishings themselves: headboard cover, bumper, dust ruffle and sheet. They have all been retired.
