Run, run, run

My mom got her stimulus rebate yesterday. As Dan put it, go figure. She didn’t work at all this year (she’s disabled) and filed last minute (seriously, I submitted her tax return around 11:45pm on April 14th!), and still got her stimulus rebate before us. Heh. Oh well. Anyway, my brothers better be treating her like a queen for the next five years of her life, because she took her $900 and with the exception of a purse and some jewelry from Target, spent all of it on them: PlayStation 3 plus an extra controller, Guitar Hero 3 plus an extra guitar, Assassin’s Creed, Super Mario Smash Brothers Brawl (Wii game), and an American Idol karaoke game plus an extra microphone. My mom is bringing over the karaoke game tonight. I’m really looking forward to trying it out! :)

Alyssa, Ryan and I met my mom at the mall yesterday evening to go gift shopping for Dan, and then we went to Applebee’s for dinner. Ryan was… perfect. Usually, eating out with him, or eating with him in general, is a disaster, because he’s very impatient, and always wants to be on the move. But despite being at the restaurant for about an hour, he sat quietly in his high chair, with a hand on my thigh or arm at all times (mama’s boy much?), eating, looking around, and playing with the little toys I brought along for him. I guess the restaurant had the right kind of atmosphere, just the right noise level, lighting, etc. And the moon was full and my prayers were answered.

Today: Dan’s birthday party!

I’m going to be packing up the kids and going out in a bit to hit up Target for a few last minute items, the pet store for more cat food, the car wash place to vacuum out the filthy interior of my car, and finally to the grocery store to pick up Dan’s cake and all of the food.

Tonight should be a lot of fun for us. :D I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Wow Ryan sounds like Sydney, impatient. Would rather get down and go from table to table just looking at what people are doing and chatting them up than eating anything. Then she completely surprises me. I find it’s better to take her out when she’s absolutely starving, she behaves better.

And uh, could you mother adopt me please. That was very, very nice of her. She should have spent more on herself. I’m selfish like that though.

  2. Wowza, sounds like my mom with that stuff. We’ve got all but karaoke but Rob bought GH and SSB with his own money. Gaming mania!

Wow. I could think of better things to spend $900 on! Hopefully it doesn’t get busted in the next week or so.

Meghan is impatient in restaurants. She’s a very fussy eater too so its hard getting her something that she will eat. Hopefully that changes soon!

Have fun at Dan’s party :).

I should be getting my rebate thingy soon… I wish it would hurry up! I’m glad to know that they’ve started sending them out! :yummy:

  6. I cannot say that I envy with the eating our situation. We’ve been fortunate to have a munchkin that loves going out to eat and will pretty much eat everything in site for that matter. But I am glad that Ryan did great for you last night! :)

Hope Dan’s birthday party is a success!
