It’s obvious by now that I am a very technology lovin’ kind of girl. For Christmas, among other things, I wanted a larger memory card for my digital camera, a snazzy photo printer (I thought I wanted the HP 8750, but it has a driver bug with Vista, so in April I sold it and purchased the Vista compatible B9180 instead), and a larger laptop hard drive. Come Valentine’s Day, I was still coveting a laptop hard drive.
Now Mother’s Day and my 24th birthday are right around the corner — May 11th and June 13th, respectively. I still want that laptop hard drive, but I also want a new stereo for my car (the kind with an audio input to hook my iPod up to), and an external flash for my Nikon D40x DSLR. Both Dan and my mother asked what I wanted for both holidays, and I told them flat out: hard drive, car stereo an external flash. Oh, and if it isn’t too much trouble, some of the lotions and glitter shimmer stuff from Victoria’s Secret’s Dream Angels’ Desire line.
For ideas for Father’s Day, Dan’s brother’s 24th birthday (June 23rd) and my brother’s 13th birthday (July 1st), I’m looking at buy.com’s weekly deals. So far I haven’t found anything that Dan might particularly want or need, but I think I’m going to keep an eye on the Western Digital 500GB external hard drive. My brother’s computer has a 250GB hard drive. I know that sounds like a lot, but once you get the operating system installed, basic programs (anti-virus, firewall, word processing, graphic editing, etc.) and games (my brother’s a big gamer) installed, there isn’t much space left over. And in addition to gaming, my brother also really likes to create and edit all sorts of movies… movies of himself, movies of the family, animations, etc. In addition to having ample storage for the movies, it’d be nice for him to also have a secondary place to store things, just in case his computer decides to up and explode one of these days. Or, which may be more likely, somehow become corrupt since my brother is bad about downloading anything and everything, and often gets infected with viruses, spyware and malware.
Anyway, I have that bookmarked, and I’m going to keep looking for something for Dan. If I do find something, which I’m sure I will, between amazon.com, buy.com and ebay.com, I probably won’t mention it here, but that’s because Dan reads my blog, and I don’t want to ruin the surprise!

Western Digital is a pretty decent hard drive manufacturer
I used to sell hard drives once upon a time… as well as all other things computer/technology related hehe. I wanted EVERYTHING I saw xD It is a good thing I stopped working there or I would have boughten the entire store!
^ That’s why I stay out of most electronics stores! It’s easier to resist purchasing items when they’re not in front of me, tempting me and begging me to buy them!
I love tech stuff too. It’s so expensive, yet so addictive!!
Love your new layout. Simple and cute.
I have no idea what any of you are talking about.
I’m kidding, that’s just my way of saying I’m a techno not geek.
I hope you get everything you want for Mother’s Day and your birthday! As mean as it may sound, my mother will be lucky if she gets cards this year. (Her birthday is June 10th.)
Techy stuff is always the most fun – It sucks that it all costs so much money. I’d kill for a new CPU fan. Mine hasn’t worked in months.
you think electronics are geeky?
for my birthday, I asked ryan for comics d=
