Yap yap yap

A few weeks ago my mom told Alyssa that she yaps too much. So now she goes around going, “Yap yap yap!” This is in between the actual yapping, of course. I swear, there was one night we were out in the car and she didn’t pause for breath for a good fifteen minutes. Anything and everything was coming out of her mouth. Oh hai verbal diarrhea!

I called my mom’s today, and Alyssa picked up. “Hewwo?” I really need to tape her saying that before she figures out the correct pronouncation. Again, a good ten minutes of talking with her (about my brothers, the wall that gave her a tiny boo-boo on her finger that hurts, the loud noises in the living room from the grandfather clock, the cats, my mom, what she did last night, etc., etc.) I finally was able to talk to my mom. Alyssa was great. A little “chatty Kathy”, but great. Right now she’s all hepped up about my mom taking her and my brothers to the pool.

I would have enjoyed my Alyssa-free day yesterday (Dan dropped her off at my mom’s around 4pm), except that I was working. With the exception of dinner for Ryan and I, playtime, diapers, and a long walk outside, I was at this computer working from 2pm until 1:45am. Then I switched to my laptop to finish up another three hours and fifteen minutes of work. My back is killing me today. Since 99% of the work I do is writing, I should really invest in a audio recognition program, and save my back and wrists and fingers the trouble. Of course, I’d then be hoarse. ;) I can’t win.

So, what is everyone doing today? I have to run out to do a few errands, but you better believe I’ll be right home afterwards. It’s HOT out! Tomorrow I’m taking Alyssa, my mom and my brothers to see Wall-E, and tomorrow night Dan and I are going with Jason to see Dark Knight. We saw Hancock the other night — great movie! :D

I wish I had half that much writing work! I cannot seem to get a good freelance writing project going…I apply to at least 4 every day, but no one ever seems interested… :(

I agree that you should record Alyssa talking. I have an idea in my head what it sounds like…I’m sure it’s cute! :cute:

I hear ya about the back ache. I’m doing some transcription work these days, and it is taking its toll on my back/neck/shoulders.

I have an audio recognition program on one of my laptops. Its pretty neat, but you have speak perfectly or it will jumble words together.

I tried to get into free lance writing a while back, but like Kecia says, no one was interested.

  5. Aw, little kid voices are the cutest, aren’t they? I love listening to them say words in such an adorable way or trying to tell stories. :)

I’m sorry that your back is aching. I guess you really can’t win, like you said. Didn’t you just get a new computer chair? Maybe you just haven’t settled into it yet. The next time you spend a day working at the computer I’d suggest getting up every once in a while and just walking around – get a glass of water or just take a lap around the house. I tend to hurt my back when I sit in one place for too long. Maybe that’s what caused you such trouble. Feel better!

Don’t you have windows Vista? It has a voice recognition program on it already. I love it. Yeah you better tape it, because they grow up soo fast. Then you can play it for her when she’s older and make her turn red lol.

I can’t wait to see Wall-E, think we might see it tonight actually. The ads look so cute.

My son Tyler enjoys yapping as well! Must be that age (he’s almost 4 1/2). I saw the Dark Knight on Friday and it was pretty good. I’ve never been one to follow the whole Batman story lines or anything, but it at least kept me interested enough. And I hate to sound like everyone else reviewing the movie, but Heath Ledger’s performance was brilliant, in my opinion. Tyler has been obsessed with Wall-E since he first saw the previews on TV, so I’m going to try to take him to see it at the drive-in theater sometime soon. I’m still too afraid to take him to an actual theater because of his talking and possible meltdowns, haha. Especially for how expensive it is nowadays! Let us know how you like the movies!
