DYMO label makers

So it’s August. If I were ten years younger, I’d probably be eagerly counting down the days until the first day of school. Yes, I was one of those kids. I wasn’t a teacher’s pet or a math nerd, but I did enjoy going to school, just to have something to do everyday and an opportunity to socialize. I even looked forward to classes and homework, since it felt good to learn and be challenged. Back to school shopping was always exciting. Generally I would make two lists: one for back to school supplies, and one for back to school clothes and accessories.

Back to school supplies were always fun to buy. In fifth grade I had everything, right down to my trapper keeper (remember those?!), from Lisa Frank. I loved Lisa Frank! I still do, actually, although I buy their little toys and knick-knacks for Alyssa and not for myself. ;)

In high school, I moved away from cutesy supplies and towards organization. I used a three ring binder in ninth grade, but after that I stuck with three, five and nine subject notebooks, and used Color labels to distinguish books and notebooks from each other. The color labels were a big help, especially with covered textbooks that were often of similar size and thickness, so if I was reaching for one in my locker I always knew I was reaching for the right one.

DYMO has many products to assist with home and office organization, including a spiffy label maker. A label maker can be put to use for many different types of organization. I used one to organize my school books and textbooks. My mom used one to label her medical supplies when she worked as a phlebotomist. A couple of my jobs had label makers that were used to generate names for reusable name tags, and even the plastic cups us employees would keep in the break rooms. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m already looking forward to Alyssa’s and Ryan’s first days of school each year, because it’ll be fun to shop for and organize their things with label makers! :)

  1. ooh I like label makers too. I want to buy name tags fro my kids clothing because they are always losing their sweaters in school.

Label markers! I never owned one (I just used plain labels to label my school supplies when I was young), but there’s one at work and I love using it.
