Back in June I wrote a product review/sponsored post for a lingerie company (yandy.com). Since then a blogger for another lingerie company has been leaving comments on that post with links to their own company. I contacted this person via email and explained that I would not be accepting competing links in comments on that entry, because yandy.com paid for that space on my blog and should not have to deal with competition. I also let the blogger know my rates and requirements for sponsored posts, and encouraged them to contact me for more information if they were interested in advertising on my blog.
Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t the standard professional leave off and cease with commenting?
Not the little prick I’m dealing with. He has ignored my various emails, and after I blocked his IP address, logged back online to have his refreshed (last three digits changed) and commented yet again. Then he did a “test” comment, using the URL of yandy.com for his author URL.
Well, all niceness is gone from me. I banned the motherfucker’s IP address starting with the first two sets of digits, and set the keywords for the company and website he is advertising to be blocked from the comments. I also plan on contacting the company in question to let them know about the “services” of one of their employees/third party employees.

Wow, who knew that an OLD sponsored post with a nofollow in the comments would SO need a link there??
LOL!
That sort of persistence is such a compliment to your posts srsly. People are funny…

I am glad you handled it in a professional manner. I experienced this also but what I did was, I deleted the comments. :p

Wow, they seem to be really desperate to get their link up at your blog no matter what :/ I’m glad you sorted them out!
Wow, I figure his company must suck if he has to spam comments just to get his link out there. That really is unproffessional. I am interested in seeing what type of responce the company gives you. Be sure to share it with us.
I get this all the time..! you’ll have to teach me.. to ban these ppl sometime eh..
and Jenn.. thanks for sending and sharing those pictures..! yer awesome..!
Ugh I get comments like this all the time. I delete them. It’s really childish and damages the company. I don’t think the company knows that the people they hire for promotion are doing this. I contacted a company directly and told them about their “employee” and they sent me some stuff for free to make up for it. Try it!
God, I hate spammers! They’re just about as annoying as telemarketers!
Btw, are you using a .htaccess to block IPs or are you using something else, like a plug-in?

As the domain name suggests, my name is Jenn, and I own this blog. I'm 26 years old and married to my one true ♥, Daniel. And while I have two kids (Alyssa is five, and Ryan is three), you won't find "mommy" in my username or email address, nor does my blog revolve around them. I'm a mother, but most importantly I am me, with a passion for love, blogging, reading, and photography. I'm also a busy freelance writer, web designer & SEO goddess, and a blogger relations person for an adult toy company.

Good thinking Jenn!
