Dan is thinking about getting a tattoo. He likes arm bands, and he likes dragons. The perfect combination would be an arm band tattoo consisting of a dragon.
Before taking the plunge and getting something so expensive, and more importantly so permanent, we bought some temporary tattoo paper and printed out a temporary tattoo for Dan to try out. Now, this tattoo isn’t perfect, because we had to adjust it a bit to make it fit around the majority of his arm, and it’s green because my printer is running low on black ink. If Dan were to get a real tattoo, it would certainly look a lot better than the temporary one, and it would be pure black.
So, what do you think?

I think it looks good. How does the side that curls around the back of his arm look?
I love men with tattoos so I am being really biased. But I think it would look good .
I picked I dont know….just because I LOVE LOVE LOVE tattoos…but I hate tribal style. One of the unspoken rules in the tattoo world is never go with the tattoo trends like Kanji, Tribal, tramp stamp (lower back on females), shamrocks, etc.
But ya..im all for the ink!

I picked yes, because even in the green it looks good on him.
It’ll look super awesome in black.

I voted yes, because his arm would look good with a tattoo…just not the green one!

Dan doesn’t seem like the tattoo type to me, but ti looks good.I actually like the green! lol
I think it would look good on him.
PS, I think the green looks awesome, and if he did that and had it outlined in black, it would look even more awesome.
I personally don’t like tattoos the majority of the time, however I think that small simple ones can be really nice sometimes. Josh has a small one on his back and it’s simple and I like it. I think the same way about that one on Dan’s arm. I say if he really wants it then go for it.
Tacky.
I think it looks really good, despite being green – although it was intentional, considering that you were running on low ink.
Call me slow, but I had no idea that tattoo paper was still sold! I feel like going out and having some fun. If only I had ink. lol.
How long will it last? – Using the paper.
I say go for it. Think it’ll suit him well.
You know the funny thing? I was actually considering asking you (in your Q&A), whether you were going to get a tattoo or not (if you’re a fan), but now I already know the answer. I’m planning on getting another one myself, one of these days.

@ Marie..
I think that the reason for these beliefs is because in the tattoo world…meaning, those who dont just walk into the Mcdonalds of tattoo shops and pick something out that was on the wall, tattoos are a very very spiritual thing. It is art on the most beautiful and important canvas of all….the physical existence, or physical self. It is a human being, decorating the temple of self. Which is the closest thing to God that exists in this physical world…seeings as how we were created in Gods image. Our bodies are essentially…a part of God.
So…for people who just go with the trendy, or walk into McTattoo and order a McTribal, with a McTrampstamp on the side for his girlfriend….it is almost…sacrilegious and defeats the whole purpose of tattooing in the first place.
Now, if someone happens to be into Polynesian tribes, or the Maori people….then there is every reason to get a tribal.
Or someone is Irish…every reason to get a Shamrock.
Or someone is Chinese, or heavily influenced by Chinese culture….theres every reason to get a Kanji.
It just shouldnt be some instant “heyimgonnagetatattooletsgogetone” kind of thing.

For me, it’s not so much the tribal style as it’s about the dragon. As dorky as it sounds, dragons mean a lot to me, and I just don’t like the idea of having a more ‘picturey’ or even ‘photographic’ representation of a dragon on my arm. I much rather prefer the stylized version. Of course, when I actually do go to a tattoo place they’ll have real ARTISTS there who can help me decide what I actually want.
@Dan…
Dragons meaning a lot to you doesnt sound dorky to me at all. I saw a really, really awesome documentary about Dragons and their meanings throughout history…especially in East and SouthEast Asia. A lot of tribal peoples beliefs is that they descend from Dragons. Like the Naga (literally “snake” or “dragon”) people of Nagaland, India.
Really cool stuff.
What about an Asian style representation of a dragon?
Like the Thai style ( http://www.philholtsf.com/blog/paintings/thai_dragon_tattoo_shirt.jpg )
And theres always the Chinese ( http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2e/Chinese_dragon.PNG/372px-Chinese_dragon.PNG )
Or…Celtic style which is really stylized and almost…abstract…which is kinda almost what the one in your pic reminded me of..

Tattoos are awesome…and very very addictive too. Have fun!! I def recommend getting one.
