So, we have Christmas presents for my thirteen year old brother, myself (Dan even wrapped it!) and my brother-in-law. But we have a lot of people left on our list: Alyssa, Ryan, my mother, my ten year old brother, my grandfather, his mother, his other brother, his two sisters, his two aunts and their husbands, his uncle and her wife and Jason.
Alyssa and Ryan will be easy enough — a trip to a toy store or the toy section in Target should do the trick. But for my mother, my brother, Dan’s brother and Jason, we’re thinking electronics. So each week I have been looking over buy.com’s sale ad to see if anything jumps out at me. This is how I found the perfect present for my thirteen year old brother, so maybe similar inspiration will strike again.
I do have a few ideas for my mother, but one thing in particular I know she would love is an external flash for her Nikon D40x. She has been drooling over the SB-600 I purchased for my Nikon D40x last May. buy.com carries that particular flash:
It is a bulky flash and really put a strain on my wrist when I first began using it, but the great lighting and boost of natural lighting that it provides photos is well worth both the cost and the weight of the SB-600.
Honestly, the hardest person to buy a Christmas present for isn’t my electronics-loving mother, or my brother-in-law who loves owls but has a lot of owl-related items. It’s going to be Ryan. He doesn’t play with toys like other little kids do. He’s two years and three months, and just now shows interest in toys designed for a child that is 12-18 months of age.

Ooh you’re making me drool and I don’t even have a super nice camera yet. I hope you are able to find something for Ryan. I’m sure you’ll think of something.
