Get over it already

I’m watching some DVRed daytime court shows, and the commercials in between are filled with election propaganda. On that note… we live in a very rural and conservative area. Around here, a worthwhile candidate must be Republican, white and pro-life. Needless to say, Barack Obama wasn’t a popular choice. I’d say that for every ten McCain/Palin signs I saw in yards and on vehicles, I’d see maybe one or two Barack Obama signs. There was this one house down the road that had this huge wooden McCain/Palin billboard in their yard, and it was even lit up! I know it’s so immature of me, but now that the election is over and the results are quite clear, I want to dance around and go, “Nyah, nyah! Obama won, motherfuckers!”
But I won’t. I’ll gloat inwardly, snicker every time I see a McCain/Palin sign, and hope Obama can do something decent for our economy. He’s the better choice of the two candidates, obviously, but he’s got a LOT of work ahead of him.

Oh my god, my back hurts so bad. I’m due for my period on Sunday, and I’ve had some aches and pains prior to other periods, but never pain like this. It feels like a muscle was pulled in the middle of my back. It hurts to straighten up and walk normally. I took three ibuprofen about a half hour ago; I hope they kick in soon.

I’m excited for a product review I’m going to be working on over the next few days. The people behind the Peek contacted me last week and asked me if I would be interested in reviewing their product. Of course! So I have a bright cherry red peek charging on my kitchen counter right now. I’m going to start it up tonight and start sending and receiving email on it. :)

My plans for the rest of the evening? Writing, and loads of it. I have a paycheck to collect tomorrow morning!

Signs are still up everywhere. Congress has a lot of work to do over these next few weeks, going around town, removing these signs. And, I don’t think it’s immature to tease those with McCain/Palin signs, because I’m tempted to do it myself. I cheer for the Obama/Biden ones. =)

I wonder why McCain supporters have the signs up still. If it was me, I would take them down. I would not want to be associated with a candidate who lost.

  3. Lol if you were REALLY immature, you could go over to their house with a can of spray paint and write “FAIL.” on the billboard! :P

As for the signs still being up after they have lost, I suppose people who believe in his values deeply enough to erect a light-up sign are still going to believe the same things post-election, even if the rest of the country disagrees.

As for your back pain, ow! I hope it gets better soon! :)

  4. LMAO @ Fail!

I want to see how the peek thing goes. They look really neat and I love the minty green colored one. Can’t wait to read that review.

I live in the capital of Florida (Tallahassee), and downtown there’d be people on one side with McCain signs and people on the other side with Obama signs. Both of which said honk … and of course people honked but how could you tell who they were honking at? xD I myself never put up stickers or anything like that on my car, mainly because I don’t want to have to remove it later (lets face it, having an Obama ’08 sticker when it’s 2012 would be odd).

We sell Peek at work, and it’s safe to say NO one has bought one. To me they seem pretty pointless (100 bucks to buy one and 20 bucks a month to just check your email) it’s cheaper to get a phone imo.

You know, I don’t get why Obama supporters are being so fucking nasty about him winning the election. It’s rude and unnecessary to behave that way. People have differences in opinions; just because you didn’t agree doesn’t mean the opinion doesn’t have merit. Because guess what — the opinion of those people who wanted McCain in office DOES matter, because this is America, and if Obama hopes for re-election in 2012, he will have to take their thoughts into consideration, too.

Frankly, Obama seems a whole lot more willing to listen to our ideas than the people who support him.

I still see Kerry ’04 stickers. By the way, over here (NJ) there’s a billion Dem signs everywhere still up. I think the campaigns should be responsible for after election clean-up but that never happens. As far as post-election emotional reaction, don’t forget that while 62 million people voted for Obama, there were 55 million who voted for McCain so there’s going to be a lot of work to do to unite us all again. Take the high road and be gracious.

I so know what you’re talking about. Even though PA tends to go democrat in most presidential elections, most of the state is actually very republican. It’s the bigger cities and their rural areas, such as Pittsburgh and Philly, that have bigger populations that give the democrats their winning votes. If you look at the state county by county, I’m sure there’s several more republican wins in that respect. But regardless, the popular vote in total is what matters for a state win, and Obama clearly got it! YAY! I live in the North Hills, about 10 minutes north of Pittsburgh and we’re very suburban, and there are still a lot of McCain Palin signs are still up and a few Obama Biden signs. I feel bad for the morons who put the stickers on their bumpers, no matter who they’re supporting, because those suckers are a pain in the ass to come off! I still see W 2004 stickers on some cars, lol. It’s called tape people, so less permanent!
