Resuming life

I don’t talk about politics very much, if at all. There are people in my blogging circle who were on one side of the election, and people who were on other. I’m all for agreeing to disagree. I have my opinions, they have theirs. But that said… GO OBAMA! I was obviously rooting for Obama. I was out yesterday evening, but kept tabs on the election results via Twitter, and got home right before the results were announced. Twitter’s explosion right after the announced results was pretty wild.
So yes. Go Obama. I’m glad he won. I think he’s the breath of fresh air that we desperately need. McCain? Eh, I feel a bit bad for him. Palin? Alaska, you guys can have her. KEEP her. Please!

Moving on…

My ten year old brother was moved to a new facility last week. CPS is happy (fuckin’ cunts…), because it keeps him away from my mom. My mother is happy, because it keeps him out of the foster care system. We’re all happy, because this facility does thorough psychiatric evaluations over a 45 day period, which is something my brother really needs.
So on Wednesday, October 29th, my mom and I go to visit my ten year old brother. While we’re there, he tells us that there is a Halloween party on Friday, and he’d love to have his costume to wear. I talk to the staff member, Michael, who says that I can overnight the costume, and as long as it’s received before noon, they can get it to my brother, so he’ll have it to wear.

On Thursday afternoon I paid UPS $47.75 to overnight the costume, two packages of socks and a long-sleeve shirt to my brother. I got tracking information, and checked the next evening and saw that it arrived there on Friday morning at 9:02am.

My ten year old brother called my mom to talk to her on Wednesday evening. She then called me. Guess who didn’t get their costume to wear at the party? He didn’t get ANYTHING — no package, no costume, no socks, no shirt.

Well, I called and spoke to the shift supervisor, the program coordinator, and tomorrow I’m going to be calling back and reaming out the director. I want the package found, I want my brother to receive an apology for their fuck up, and I want my $47.75 back. Bastards. I’m pissed that my brother missed out, and I’m equally pissed that I paid just about $50 for nothing. I’m going to ream out as many people as I have to in order to get the package found, get an apology for my brother and get my money back.

I have more Christmas cards to write about, so I’ll wrap up this blog entry with a photo of My Mother’s Bad Decision That I’m Not Going To Continue To Beat A Dead Horse About. *cough* I mean, Molly:

Leah was easily five times Molly’s size, yet she was crawling up in my lap and hiding behind me and running away. But after a while she was more courageous, and by the end of the night she was running crazed-puppy laps around Molly, and even (playfully!) barking at her a little bit.

Okay, back to writing about lab coats for me!

Aww, that really sucks that your brother didn’t get his costume. :( He’s lucky to have an awesome older sister like you though, who’s looking out for him so much.

And Molly’s really cute. From the first photo, I actually thought it was a stuffed animal (they’re getting so realistic these days) until I looked a little closer and read the description above it a little closer.

Michelle´s last blog entry: I actually respond to questions (sometimes)

LOL. I couldn’t agree more. We’re still partying here at my uni. :) Also, LOLz to Palin. That woman is the stuff of nightmares. Good lord. I hear they plugged her for a talk show in case that whole VP thing didn’t work out. I don’t know which is worse…

I’m so sorry to hear about what happened to your brother on Halloween. I very much hope you were able to make it all right–he’s only 10, after all, and deserved to get his costume! I hope he had a good time otherwise!

Haha, in the last picture Leah tooks like she’s say “What the hell, man?!”

Molly is a cutie though… hopefully she ends up sticking around.

I am sorry Jenn. That is really mean. I hope you get things straighten out. That takes alot of nerve. Molly is so cute, but Leah is cuter!! I cant wait to come back over and play with Leah again :)
Danielle´s last blog entry: No worries I’m still here.

Argh. That sucks that you went through all of that trouble to get that costume to your brother, only to realize that they never got it to them. I hope you’re able to get refunded.

Molly’s cute. Hopefully your Mom won’t fall into her bad habits. I love the last picture. The expression on Leah’s face is too funny.

  6. Crap! Jenn your posts about your brother have me so confused on if I want to join that system and try to help those kids or run far, far away from it. I feel so bad for the kids that are stuck there and have no family going to bat for them, could you imagine your poor brothers not having any family contact? They are so lucky to have you doing all this for them. The entire situation still baffles me.

And the puppy is so cute! OMG!!!!! On the note of not beating a dead horse I hope this one works out, but if not don’t let her give that dog to the shelter I’ll personally drive there and adopt her from your mom if she tires of Molly! Yorkies are so adorable.
