Have you ever composed an entire blog entry in your head, from start to finish, while driving? I did, when I was driving back from taking my mom home (she’s having car trouble again, but the whole situation makes me so ill and enraged that LET’S JUST NOT GO THERE), so I’m going to do my best to recall it and write it down.
The weekend was fun. Tiring but fun. We went out around 6pm Sunday evening and didn’t drag our asses back in until 1pm Monday afternoon. Yay for overnight babysitting. And thoughtful brothers-in-law (Dan’s brothers of course) that didn’t mind us crashing at their place.
I had to respond to a bunch of idiotic comments about breastfeeding tonight at truemomconfessions.com. According to some, breastfeeding is the equivalent to molesting your child. And if you breastfeed, you’re doing it because you’re OBVIOUSLY getting something sexual out of it. Oh, and the best one ever: breastfeeding is so old-fashioned and barbaric. Who needs nipples? Just put the milk in a bottle and give it to the baby and be done with the whole fiasco. Nevermind the added expense of purchasing bottles and artificial nipples. Or the unnecessary contribution of plastic and latex to landfills. Or the inconvenience to the mother, and the glaring fact that a lactating woman will never produce as much milk for a breast pump as she will for a baby.
Heh… it’s been a year since I breastfed Ryan, and I am still just as passionate about breastfeeding now as I was then. If we ever had another baby I would definitely breastfeed again.
Speaking of babies… my period is now three days late. When Mother Nature does finally show up I’m giving the bitch a pink slip. And if she doesn’t… well, let’s just not go there right now! I had my fallopian tubes clamped after having Ryan (my “helpful” OB decided to do plastic clamps that have a 95% reversal success rate over the standard cut/burn/tie. How nice of her to override my wishes while I was too out of it to know any better.), but according to a lot of research, the failure rate for that particular method of birth control is about the same as hormonal birth control and condoms. So while the failure rate isn’t very high, it’s certainly there. Did you know that? I know I didn’t, until I did some reading…
Needless to say, I’m going to be on pins and needles until my period rears its ugly head. And if it doesn’t? Let’s just go with the motto of the night: LET’S JUST NOT GO THERE.

My son is now 5 months old. Joe and I decided to use condoms for birth control.
I recently found out that I am currently roughly 3 months pregnant. Condoms FTL. Joe is getting a vasectomy so long as I carry the baby to term.

Mine’s due tomorrow but I haven’t had cramps all day. This is way out of the ordinary, so I think we’re in the same boat lol. :cynical:

I didn’t know that about that clamping method of tubal ligation.. and I was still under the impression that all methods of tubal ligation had a poor successful reversal rate.
That is so wrong! Geez, some people will just say anything these days. I hope you get ur period soon. Mine has been 2 weeks late so far.

has dan thought about a vasectomy? apparently they are all the rage among my area moms husbands :P.
yeah, some FF’s are so freaking stupid in their “logic”. (NOTE PEOPLE: I SAID SOME, NOT ALL ;)).
i hope you get your period soon
Heh, those posters sound pretty ignorant. Good grief.
Good luck with your period! ;)
I breastfed for a year, and people were so vocal about it. I had no issues with it but there were people that would actually lecture me about my choice. As for it being sexual – yeah right!! They have obviously never had a breast infection!
