Ryan is coming out with new words left and right. This afternoon we drove by Walmart and he said, “Oh no, Walmart”. Then a little while ago I reprimanded him for putting his hands in the cats’ water fountain. I ended my short reprimand with, “Don’t touch the water, okay?” and he goes, “Okay!”. He also says “sorry” — “Saw-yee”.
It is like someone flipped a switch. He put together his first sentence last week — “Hi Daddy”. Dan and I are throwing words at him left and right, and he’s doing really good with imitating them.
God, right now I feel so crappy. I’ve been home since 4pm, and in that time I have mopped the kitchen floor, made dinner, enjoyed the company of Danielle and Matt, who are spending the weekend with us, and wrote out Christmas cards for the Lavish Christmas card swap. I took some Tylenol Cold stuff just a bit ago, and I hope it kicks in soon. Right now I’m sitting here feeling like I want to go pass out somewhere. My head feels fuzzy, I’m slightly dizzy, I have a headache, my throat is sore and inflamed, and my chest hurts. BLAH.
Hopefully I’ll bounce back after a good night’s sleep. Tomorrow afternoon Danielle, Matt, Ryan and myself (Alyssa is spending the weekend with my mom) are going out shopping, and then tomorrow night Danielle and Matt, Daniel and I and Jason will all be going to Olive Garden, and then out bowling. I’m also hoping to squeeze in a second time seeing Twilight. ;)
I’m sick and tired and blah feeling. I want to get some work done, I have a LOT of it to do, but the way my head is spinning right now, I don’t think I’m good for much more besides sprawling on the couch and watching Judge Judy.
P.S.
Dear Producers of Judge Joe Brown,
2003 called. It wants its Photoshop brushes back.
Sincerely,
Jenn

LMAO you don’t like those brushes? I haven’t seen those in years.
I’m so proud of Ryan! That’s so great!
Thats great that Ryan has been saying more words lately.
I’m hoping you feel better tomorrow.

My mom still loves to tell the story about my first words. When I was a baby, I had chronic ear infections- which, according my doctor, meant that I could still hear but it was kind of like listening through water. When I was about a year old, I had a simple surgery to get tubes in my ears (to treat the infections), and within a week I was talking. New words every day.
In college I took a class in child development. Kids are so amazing- between the ages of 1 and 3, they learn more words than at any other time in their life. It’s just incredible what capacity they have to learn!
