As you can see, jenn.nu has a new theme. I’m not satisfied with it though, because it’s a theme from November 2007 that I reworked to include all of the changes that I’ve used in more recent themes. But I wanted to get something wintry/Christmas-y up ASAP, so I’m sticking with it. Meh. If I get the time, I might put together a better theme over the next week or so. But somehow I doubt that, because I’m going to be working my ass off for all the Christmas money I can get my hands on!
I haven’t been up to anything real exciting lately. I spent most of Sunday and Monday dripping around and getting some work done. Being sick sucks. So far, Danielle and Matt haven’t gotten sick. I tried to stay away from them while they were here, and ran around disinfecting the place with sprays and wipes before they arrived, and on Friday and Saturday night, after they went to bed.
Speaking of Danielle and Matt, they were in a dream I had the other night. I’ve been having lots of weird and crazy dreams lately, but this one takes the cake. So in my dream, I was pregnant, and in labor, with contractions that were somewhat painful, but nowhere near the excruciating and debilitating contractions I had when I was in labor with Alyssa. Danielle and Matt went with me to the hospital (where was Dan?), and a nurse checked me and found that I was 6cm dilated. I made some sort of remark about labor being surprisingly tolerable, and that it must be that way when you don’t have a baby that is sunny side up (Alyssa) or sideways (Ryan).
I woke up feeling pretty amused. I’m also sure I know what triggered that kind of dream.
My last period was several days late, short, relatively light (for me, anyway), and not as painful as it usually is. I’ve been feeling tired and drippy and just blah, and my face has been breaking out. I chalked it up to stress, but just to be on the safe side I went ahead and took a pregnancy test.

Now, that second line is very, VERY faint, but the fact that there is a line there at all really concerns me! I took that test on December 4th. I took another after it, and it also had a very faint line. A third test that I took on December 6th came up negative, so I don’t know what to make of that.
My period is due in two days, so we’ll see. If I’m lucky, it’s just a flaw with the first two tests, or I’m having what’s known as a “chemical pregnancy”, which is basically a miscarried pregnancy that is so early, the miscarriage just goes along with the regularly scheduled period.
I’m definitely hoping for the flaw/chemical pregnancy option! And I’ll definitely keep you guys updated.

I would get one of the tests that says Pregnant or Not Pregnant. I took several of the plus/minus tests and they all had very faint lines except for one that had nothing. I took an electronic test (2 actually) and both said Pregnant. An ultrasound confirmed I was about 10 weeks along at that point, and am not close to 4 months.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a false alarm!
Not to rain on your parade, but I’ve always heard that no matter how faint the line is it means your preggo. My test with Aralyn was almost as faint as that about 4 days before my missed period. But I’ve never heard of a chemical pregnancy so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Are they common?

Don’t you have your tubes tied, Jenn? Pregnancy, in your case, would be very rare. However, there’s always a chance. I know you’ve got your hands full with your two little ones already, so I’ll hope those tests are “false positives”. If not, just remember, everything happens for a reason.
I hope you feel better soon… Being sick sucks. I just got over loosing my voice, a bad cough, and a cold. Augh. It’s dragged on for over a week I think. I feel your pain!
Well… keep us posted on the “pregnancy” scare. LOL Cause that faint line looks like a + to me… but you never know… =)

Britney, I do have my tubes tied, but my OB chose to use the least effective method/most easily reversible method — spring clips. Because the tubes themselves aren’t cut, burnt or tied, the possibility to get pregnant is there. Generally speaking, a tubal ligation such as mine has about a 95%-99% success rate. The room for failure is there. :/
Believe me, i am definitely hoping for a false positive! It isn’t so much the idea of having my hands full with three as it is having RYAN to handle and a baby. Ryan is high-needs, and I can’t imagine adding a newborn to the chaotic mix!
Jenn, I thought you had some kind of tube procedure. That’s why I was asking. That’s also what I meant by “having your hands full”.
Ryan definitely came to mind.

I love the side where it says JENN.nu. You have beat me to the punch so far as I haven’t come up with anything good. Though, your links are pretty bright on my screen :O.
If your period doesn’t show up in a few days I’d spend the cash and get either a Clearblue or EPT Digital that says “Pregnant” “Not Pregnant”.

Reused or not, I like this theme. The colours are relaxing. I’ll keep my fingers crossed about it being a false-positive.

Definitely take the digital “Pregnant/Not Pregnant” test! The pregnancy tests I took last September (2007) also had very faint lines…and now I have a 6 1/2 month old! lol :cute:
I had a similar series of results from five pregnancy tests about six months ago. The first one I took was at the doctor’s office and it came back positive. The second and third ones I took at home were faint positives and the last two I took were negative.
My Chronic Fatigue specialist said that it’s entirely possible that the crazy amount of stress my body was under coupled with my illness caused it to temporarily think it was pregnant.
So, if you’re under any kind of stress or if you’re taking anything that will mess with your hormones, it’s entirely possible your body is being tricked into thinking it’s pregnant. If not, fingers crossed!
I’ll keep you in my thoughts for the next few days & cross my fingers for a false positive.
I’m sure it’s nothing though =)

eep! i hope you aren’t pregnant ! gah it sounds awful to say that but i know what you mean.. it would be hard to take care of ryan and a newborn! the weather has been seriously screwing with my periods lately.. i skipped it in november and i’m not even sexually active right now!
I think the design is cute and agree with the relaxing colors comment. Hoping for your false positive! Keep us posted.
I like the theme! It’s cute. I’m not too sure about the pregnancy test. I would wait to see if your period ever comes and if it doesn’t, then I would go to the doctor’s and get a test done.
Have you tried one of those tests that test you days before your period? You can take it a few days before your actual period or something. The suspense would kill me. I would have to know right away.
I hope you feel better. Being sick sucks.

Oh wow! Your hands would most certainly be full. I work with kids with special needs, and I honestly couldn’t imagine having an infant and a 5 year-old on top of it all. But you sound like an amazing mother, so I’m sure you would make it all work.

Wow! I have always been told that even a faint line means positive. BUt here’s hoping that it is a false positive. Fingers crossed.

When I thought that I was pregnant I got a false positive twice, and I wasn’t pregnant. I think it was just a bit of a fluke since I didn’t follow the instructions to the letter (ie did it when I woke up, instead of later in the day when it’d be more diluted.. or something!).
Hopefully (and seriously, I mean this in the nicest possible way) you’re not pregnant.. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to have a new born with Alyssa and Ryan to look after too – especially Ryan.
I love this theme. Its very pretty! I agree with everyone, use the one that says pregnant or not pregnant. I got a three pack of pregnancy test last month with 2 regular and 1 digital that says pregnant or not pregnant, and keep the other 2 for later. Or if it doesn’t come, maybe go to your doctor and get a blood test.

when I did my first test it was the same as yours faint – so left it another week and now im 12 weeks =)
Fingers crossed for you that you get your false positive (don’t know if that is a horrible thing to say) but imagine how a handful it would be for you right now.
Ps: off topic love your new theme.
Oh,wow… ((hugs))
I’ve never really had any problems with pregnancy tests, but then again, I always knew I was pregnant b/c I had such bad morning sickness right off the bat.

The new theme is lovely- although the task bar at the bottom keeps flickering that crazy-I think it has some thing to do with the JS maybe?
Anyway-oh dear.I was going to have my tubes tied after the birth of my second (I did have a c-section too) but I was told that it was the worst time to have them done,as they are more likely to fail at that time
Its best to wait 3 months after giving birth Pregnancy hormones cause the tubes to be larger or something ,and those little swimmers are determined buggers when they want to be
I hope you get the result that you want though
good luck

As the domain name suggests, my name is Jenn, and I own this blog. I'm 26 years old and married to my one true ♥, Daniel. And while I have two kids (Alyssa is five, and Ryan is three), you won't find "mommy" in my username or email address, nor does my blog revolve around them. I'm a mother, but most importantly I am me, with a passion for love, blogging, reading, and photography. I'm also a busy freelance writer, web designer & SEO goddess, and a blogger relations person for an adult toy company.

Humm. Well, they always say you don’t get false positives, only false negatives. I don’t know how much stock I put in that though. I took several just like you did, and although everyone was like that’s positive, it looks just like mine did, I was never pregnant.
At least you only have two days to wait. I hope you get the outcome you want. But don’t you miss that new baby smell?
