I have three lenses for my Nikon D40x — the two kit lenses, 18-55mm and 55-200mm, and the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D. Drool. Manually focusing when I suck at squinting through the viewfinder is a small challenge I’m quickly overcoming, and I’m having fun taking all sorts of interesting shots. So now, I really want to start adding more lenses to my collection. And after checking out buy.com’s sale e-flyer for this week, I think I’ll keep this one in mind:

I’d definitely say that the Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G telephoto lens would be a good addition to my collection. I have a smaller telephoto lens, the Nikkor 55-200mm, but I have been wanting something better and more powerful for quite a while now. I have a major love of my telephoto lens, but I feel that its reach isn’t extending far enough, especially for the scenery and farm animal photos I’m so fond of taking in the spring and summer.
Unfortunately for me, even after the holidays we’ve got more pressing issues to take care of… such as the damage done to the entire left side of our car.
*sigh* And chances are, we’ll need most of our tax return to pay for the damages, so I doubt I can use a penny of it for a new lens!

Hi Jenn. I was just wondering what your opinions are for a camera… I really am looking for a new one right now, I just have a Sony Cyber-Shot, which I like. But I really want something better. Do you recommend the Nikon D-40, is Nikon better than Canon? I don’t know a whole lot about cameras but it seems like you know a lot more than I do!
Yep-thats her thats the big gun I have!!.hehe
Its an amazing piece of kit to have,it really does make the difference.I use it mainly for live gigs. You might also have to invest in a monopod though. Its big, heavy
and with manual shooting it can fly a bit.
Loads of fun though!! You do need this a lot!!
