Monday’s original forecast was for a few flurries. I’d say we got more than a few…
I’ve been sick since Monday evening, so I haven’t really gone anywhere. Today I need to go out. I’m actually sitting here waiting for Alyssa and Ryan to wake up so we can go. I know, Jenn, awake, dressed and ready to go somewhere before 10am? Break out the camcorder, this is an event to record a copy of! Shocking, I know. But I’m up because I’m cold. I’m cold because we ran out of heat (propane). Our propane company usually comes around to fill up tanks when they’re estimated to be down around 15ish%. Too bad for us that our house is drafty, and we burned right through that 15%. Of course, this cold snap isn’t helping things…
So, we’re out of heat until tomorrow morning. I don’t think I would have woken up from the lack of heat (we must have ran out sometime after 1am), except that our bedroom is the coldest room of the house, Dan had left for work, and I had kicked part of the covers off.
I could have propane delivered today, but I am not paying a $175 “emergency” fee to have them make an unscheduled delivery a day early. We’ll just deal for the next 20 hours or so with a space heater that I lent my mom a few months ago (hence why I need to go out — I need to go collect it!). That plus layers, tossing blankets in the dryer periodically and the natural sunlight warming up the house later this morning and afternoon should have us good to go until Friday morning.
It’s times like this that I miss electric (baseboard) heat. It may not have been efficient, and it was a pain to run around and adjust all of the rooms depending on the temperature, but at least there was nothing to run out of!
Blah. I know I have said this before, but I am really sick of being sick. Breastfeeding is great and all that jazz, but I’m really starting to think I handed over all of my immunities to Alyssa and Ryan. They rarely get sick, and if they do, it’s usually for a very short amount of time, and they get a mild case of whatever it is that’s killing me. Right now I am sick for the third time since December. Headache, fuzziness/dizziness, fatigue, severe sore throat, congestion… you name it, I’ve got it. My nose and eyes are weepy, and I feel and look like total crap.
I’m so glad Dan is done work today at 5pm!
So, does anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? For me, it’ll be work, work, work, oh, and did I mention work? But work equals money, so hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work I go!

It’s been snowing like MAD up here for like two weeks straight now!
This weekend, I will be doing NOTHING! And it’s delicious!
…well, I might do damage control for all the FFXI drama. Dan will know about it, i’m sure.
for the person who recommended a flu shot- it only stops you getting the flu, you can still get colds and viruses. i’ve never bothered with one because i think i’ve had the flu once in my whole life, heh.
i used to get sick so much when my partner and i both worked in retail. since we changed jobs to not being around a ton of germy people we didn’t get sick at all last year. maybe you should try taking vitamins or something if you feel like your immune system needs some help? i hope you feel better soon!

Wow, that really bites about the heat issue but at least you are making dew. I cannot even imagine how that is since I live in the South and our “cold” is nowhere near your cold. I am, however, jealous of your snow! I would love for it to just snow like that once down here. We get flurries but they never stick and they never last long enough to have any accumulation.
Hopefully you will get better soon! I hate being sick so I know how you feel! Take care and get well hun.

Knock on wood, I haven’t been sick in a couple of months. My son started daycare in August and everytime he got sick (which was often) I got it twice as bad.
Those are some byootiful photos in the snow! You take the best photos. Do your kids really like the snow or do they complain that it’s cold?
I wish I had a great weekend to look forward to… My mother-in-law is coming down to visit. My husband has gone to pick her up as we speak. Though she really is a nice lady, I just don’t feel like putting on that happy face and dealing with family, seeing as I just had MY mum down last weekend.
Hope you’re feeling better soon!!
I’m trying to make myself work a little less this semester, since it’s my last one before I have to start working all the time to, you know, live and stuff. So maybe I’ll play some video games or something this weekend.

we got a decent sized snow covering about a week ago? It melted away within a few hours though! I agree with you on the bfing! lol I breastfed my two until they were 9 months and 16 months.I get every cold going but do they? oh no of course not!
That sucks about your heating, I can’t stand gas companies and their ‘emergency’ fee’s, it should be outlawed! Have a nice weekend!

As the domain name suggests, my name is Jenn, and I own this blog. I'm 26 years old and married to my one true ♥, Daniel. And while I have two kids (Alyssa is five, and Ryan is three), you won't find "mommy" in my username or email address, nor does my blog revolve around them. I'm a mother, but most importantly I am me, with a passion for love, blogging, reading, and photography. Did you get a flu shot this year? I know, I know, a lot of people are against them and say they don’t work. I got one this year because I was like you last year. I got cold after cold last year. And when I did get sick, it hung around for several weeks complete with fatigue and a nasty sore throat. As a last ditch effort, I got a flu shot this year. So far I’ve been sick only once (right before I got the shot). But maybe that’s just luck!
