Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! ♥

Dan and I probably won’t be doing much for the holiday. I wouldn’t mind going to Nifty Fifty’s tomorrow night (we didn’t get there last night), but I don’t know. Between babysitting and driving back towards Philadelphia, I’m tempted to just do nothing.

The Philadelphia Twestival was a lot of fun. There were over a hundred people in attendance, and we joined them, once we got through sitting through insane traffic that jacked up our travel time for an hour and a half to almost two and a half hours. I had to pee so bad that I parked the car in a no-parking area and ran inside to find a bathroom, leaving Dan to his own devices in a city he is totally unfamiliar with. Did I mention he’s bad with handling the stress of driving? Heh. It’s amazing he didn’t implode for the few minutes I was gone.

We had chicken strips, a few drinks (for Dan and Jason; I had one Bay Breeze and a crap ton of water), Dan participated in the Rock Band tournament (he may not have won, but he looked hella sexy during it!), and I won a gift certificate for three private pilates sessions. Leave it to me, the fat chick in the crowd, to win the freakin’ pilates sessions. ;)

After we left the Twestival, we tried for Nifty Fifty’s, but didn’t get there until they were just about to close. So we went to IHoP instead. After a nice dinner of pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns and omlettes, we came home and crashed by 2am.

Today… meh. You morning people would be proud of me! I was up by 8:30am to take Alyssa to preschool, and I’ve been up ever since. She had a great time with their little Valentine’s Day party, and brought home a whole decorated bag full of cards and treats.

This evening, after dinner, I hauled out scissors, construction paper, yarn and crayons, and let the kids go to town. Ryan cut up and ripped up all of the hearts I cut out for him, but with my assistance Alyssa and I made a card for Dan. I swear, she wrote the message all by herself. I wrote it down on another piece of paper for her to use as a guide. :)

Okay, time for bed. I honestly would have been in bed several hours earlier, but I got sidetracked with Nip/Tuck, and baking these delicious and cute cupcakes!

The cupcakes look yummy (I’m on a strict diet, don’t tempt me, woman!) and the card is *adorable*. Especially the “dadddy” bit. :D

As far as us morning people go, I got up @ 4:40 and by 5:40 I’d made crepe dough, cleaned the kitchen, emptied and refilled the dish washer… :D Which reminds me, I have to go put it on (since I forgot, the downside of hypomania is the inability to *concentrate*)!

The major downside of being an early bird is that you wake up the entire house and they hate you for it. :P

They are seriously cute cupcakes. I love the barrage of sprinkles everywhere around them, too. (I can just picture you madly shaking the sprinkle containers violently over the sheet.)

Haha, those are the sprinkles we used for our Valentine’s Day (aka the month of February) doughnuts at Dunkin Donuts.
