Go listen to George Michael’s Father Figure and tell me if you don’t hear bottom feeder. That’s what Dan and I heard when we listened to the song a week or so back. We’re sorta-kinda fighting right now and not really talking to one another, but you know what? Life’s too short to be petty, and there are way more important things then forgotten clothes for donating, Jenn being a douche at using a mini-screwdriver to unlock the doors that Ryan locks from the inside and then shuts, and hot chocolate, cold pot pie and electric bills. I think I ended our mutual Silent Treatment this morning when I heard Father Figure on my iPod (yes, I downloaded it just for shits and giggles) and couldn’t resist giggling over I will be your bottom feeder (father figure), and texted it to Dan.
Silly marital squabbles aside, I’m tired. And annoyed. Butter is highly coveted item in this house, apparently. I have been trying to make these super delicious homemade brownies for almost two weeks now, but I never get further than setting out two sticks of butter to soften. The first time my mom used that butter (instead of the perfectly good sticks of butter we keep in the fridge). The second time, Dan. The third time, Dan. I fully own up to the fact that I blew my stack over freakin’ BUTTER the other night, but damn, what is it with people and butter? Leave mine alone! So then I took out yet two MORE sticks from the fridge and stuck them up on top of my computer desk. Amazingly, they’re still there, so as soon as Alyssa and Ryan go down for naps (very soon, heh), I’m off to make brownies.
As an aside, I am finding glitter EVERYWHERE. But I suppose I have myself to blame for that. For a Photography Girls challenge, I took over several containers of cosmetic glitter to attempt some bokeh shots with. Well, I spilled some glitter on the bed. Oops. Then I had the brilliant idea of blowing that glitter onto the floor beside the bed, thinking I’d just vacuum it up. Well, right as I blew a big coating of it off the bed, Kirin ran by and got coated with most of it. He then proceeded to track it all over the house… so everyone and everything is quite sparkly right now!
But at least the pictures came out nice:

The last one with the purple glitter has some very nice bokeh going.
I feel very loserish, have absolutely no idea what “bokeh” is and/or means. But yes, glitter shots turned out quite nicely!!
Ooh pretty glitter! I hope everything is okay between you and dan.
Those pictures look fabulous! I seriously love your photos. I have been so bad as far as photography goes. I really have to get back into it soon. I miss it. Also I really do hope that silent treatment ends and you can get back to making awesome inside jokes like bottom feeder! That is classic!
oh very nice
I could use that on my cards!!
Glitter shots! Very pretty, I like the purple one. =)
Hahaha so funny, bottom feeder. I totally hear it.
LOL< I’m with Jennifer, I have no idea what “bokeh” is, but the glitter pictures turned out gorgeous.
I never noticed that in the song “Father Figure.” I’ll have to take a listen to it just to see.
Blah di blah comment hi there.
I think the glitter photos turned out really nicely! LOL at glittery Kirin though! That’s funny, and yet also rather unfortunate!
Ick, glitter! *runs off, is seriously allergic*
The photos do look very pretty, and congrats on the new princess-y glitter home! :D
Mmmmm. Brownies. You’re like the storybook mama who’s always cooking something good!
Oooh glitter!!! I love glitter, is that make-up glitter or something else? I’ll have to check that Father Figure song as well
Pretty bokeh!! And make me some brownies too, please? ; ;
Lol, the things we do for photography!
Pretty glitter! I love your photography.. i think i wanna make/decorate cupcakes now =) I just thought I’d comment on your site so i’m not just lurking all the time!
The glitter is so pretty.
Now I’m going to have to listen to that song! Never even heard of it, but I’m sure I’ll hear what you are hearing, as I hear the wrong words all the time! Pretty glitter photos…I especially like the last one.
The glitter looks great! LOL, but with my luck I would probably have emptied it all over the place..
I have the same problem with butter and eggs! I put out butter and then whatever eggs I need to bake and by the time I get back to the kitchen, it’s all freakin’ gone.. I don’t get it. It’s not like I took the last of it.
I love the glitter photography. The pink and purple close-ups are particularly beautiful.
I love glitter. The only problem is, it’s like the herpes of arts and crafts. Once you get it, you have it forever. :D
I have a Guilty pleasure for George Michael, considering that’s all I heard, while growing up. Sort of stuck by me. I love that song. You aren’t bluffing. I’ve also heard “bottom feeder”, and “will you be my breeder”.
I love the glitter shots. At first, before reading, I thought it was new eyeshadow – although I’ve actually used glitter on my eyes, a few times. Everyone loves cosmetic eyeshadow.
I totally LOL’d over the glittery kitteh, and home. At least, you have no excuse to say “My home has more shine, then ever before.”
