Note to self: blog more

Hey, it’s me. Right now it’s overcast and windy, and I am incredibly sleepy and cranky. Ryan has somehow gotten his sleep schedule messed up, and last night went to bed at 9pm, but instead of sleeping until 9am or 10am this morning, he popped up last night after 11pm. And stayed up. And requested dog dogs and yoni & cheese around midnight. I fed him, played with him, read him a story, let him watch some cartoons, and then put him back to bed at 2am. By 4:30am he was still rocking in his bedroom, but I said screw it and went to bed.

A few days ago Dez dared the members of Lavish to do a DITL. I went ahead and did one, even though I know what my Day in the Life is like: kids, housework, work, kids, housework, work, work, work. Not necessarily in that order, but you get the idea. You can see my DITL here.

Did I mention I’m sleepy and cranky? I have an appointment for blood work at 2:40pm, and then I need to get my hair cut, and I definitely need to pick up groceries (and disposable diapers — more about that in a sec), but what I REALLY want to do is just go back to bed.

So, why does Jenn need disposable diapers? Well, remember how my washer broke? (Turns out, the washer itself was off balance because it was never properly bolted to the pedestal drawer beneath it, and that caused the pulley that turns the drum to become misaligned.) Yeah, well, it broke again. The repair guy that was here on February 25th assured me that the belt that was on the misaligned pulley showed just a “tiny” bit of wear and tear, and he would not recommend replacing it. Well, silly me took the professional repair man’s advice, and didn’t have it replaced. And… it up and broke on Saturday night. I had a load of whites going on the last spin cycle when it snapped. I heard the snap, and then a weird squealing sound, and then nothing. The washer was still going, but the drum was just sitting there. So I hurried up and turned it off, and Dan pulled open the user access panel, and sure enough, there was belt dust and little fragments all over the place.
So I called up the company that I had come out and fix the washer last week and bitched about needing the belt replaced. They ordered the belt this morning, and they’ll be out tomorrow. I’ll pay for the part and the labor, obviously, since I would have had to pay that anyway, but I will not be paying the initial $58 fee to have the repair man walk in the door and diagnose the issue.
So that’s why I need some disposables for Ryan. We’re out of covers.

And… 2:20pm. Time to leave for my appointment!

  1. Good luck with your blood work.

And I am right there with you on the tired/cranky issue.. I was up at 6:40am because I just could not sleep any longer and now? Now I am ready to pass the heck out!

Are you okay? You mentioned blood work and I just thought I’d ask if everything is okay.

Six tubes of blood?! Ouch, that’s intense. I hope everything’s okay.

Yeah, I am having one of those “I wanna go back to bed!” days myself. I hope you can get your washer fixed…for real this time!

  5. Holy tons of bloodwork. Ewwwie. I hate getting even one done. Maybe Ryan will sleep more tonight and let you get some rest.

I hope they don’t try to screw you when they replace it like most companies try to do. Then again there is no screwing Jenn (unless she wants too haha ;) ). I saw a photo of your hair and it looks wonderful. :)

Ugh, appliances always break at the worst moment. Possibly because any moment, for most appliances, is the worst moment :( I’m looking at a broken housephone right now wondering where I’m going to get money to buy a new one. So I empathize!

I noticed you’re listening to Sarah McLachlan at the moment. So am I, World on Fire to be exact. I thought that was funny :)
