We didn’t go to see the Easter Bunny this year. I just couldn’t stand the idea of dealing with Ryan in a long line, and paying $10 for a crappy photo featuring a grumpy Alyssa and a squirming, working-up-to-a-shriek Ryan. I don’t think Alyssa really cares, since she hasn’t said anything. And Ryan? Blissfully oblivious, as always.
So, no bunny. Instead we did an Easter egg hunt last weekend, dyed eggs on Saturday, gave the kids their Easter baskets on Sunday, and then joined Dan’s aunt, uncle, sisters and brother for an Easter lunch and another Easter egg hunt.
And since we didn’t do the Easter bunny, I now have an $18 dress and $12 pair of shoes that I might as well return to Target, heh.
Now Alyssa wants to know what holiday is next. Well, there’s my mom’s birthday, Dan’s birthday (complete with his awesome fantabulous birthday present(s)*), and then it’s my 25th birthday, then my thirteen year old brother’s 14th birthday, and then Ryan’s third! We’re kind of done with the whole holiday thing, besides catching some fireworks for the fourth of July.
Today I geared myself up with Leah, a bottle of water, my cell phone, my iPod (with Dan’s headphone since I somehow lost mine? Maybe the dog ate them.) and a pedometer and set out walking. 0.76 miles in about 35 minutes… not bad, since we kept getting waylaid by little kids who wanted to pet Leah.
Tonight I’ve got a writing project or two to complete, some Judge Judy and Judge Alex to catch up on, and a layout at kitty.nu to tweak. How about you?
*Vagueness FTW.

Aww Alyssa is so cute! “Okay this holiday is over – what’s next!?” I am glad you guys had a nice and relaxing Easter. It looks like you had a lot of fun and their Easter baskets are adorable! I really miss Easter egg hunts. I can’t wait to do them again when I have kids.
I absolutely love your photos of the kids!
Glad you had a relaxing Easter. We did the whole Easter bunny photo shoot this year, but still am not sure it was worth it. Both kids smiled, but when they were done, Ethan kicked and screamed because he wanted to “snuggle” the Easter bunny some more.
Also, thank you for the kind comment on my post and for the keyed deadbolt idea. We purchased an alarm system that goes off every time the door is opened or fiddled with from the inside or outside. If that doesn’t detour him from running away, we will definitely try out the keyed deadbolt idea.
