Check out Manta at SeaWorld

If I wasn’t so scared of heights and opposed to sweltering in humidity and heat all day long, I would definitely save up and plan for a vacation to Florida. But hold the ears, because I can’t stand Mickey Mouse. I’d much rather go to SeaWorld and some of the other non-Disney themed attractions that are in Florida.

SeaWorld is debuting a new roller coaster, dubbed “Manta“. The Manta is a flying roller coaster shaped to look like a flying ray. It’s an awesome roller coaster, particularly because riders are not only suspended from the track which is situated above, but they are also prone — positioned face-down, head first for the whole ride! I have to admit, I’d love to ride a coaster like that. I’ve done the standard sit-down coasters, the suspended coasters and even a coaster where you’re sitting upright and blasted 70mph straight ahead and up, but the opportunity to lay face down on a coaster and lay beneath its track would be pretty damn cool.

Manta opens on May 22nd, 2009, and it’s bound to draw a huge crowd. But if you check out the six free activities found at ridemanta.com, you’ll have the opportunity to get front-seat passes! To get your own front seat passes on Manta, you’ll need to create an account for ridetheflyingray.com, do a few things with Twitter, and provide answers to a Manta quiz (answers are found throughout the website). Remember, there are six activities in all, and you will need to complete all six in order to obtain a Manta “Front-of-the-line” pass. Good luck!
