I need to get my mom something for Mother’s Day. Last year I got her a MomAgenda. This year I’ll probably do the usual flowers and card, and maybe some new perfume or lotion. As far as what I’m doing for Mother’s Day, I have no idea, besides enjoying it on my own. That seems so wrong, doesn’t it? Oh well. I get to enjoy being a mother 24/7, 365. Surely it’s not too horrible of me to not have my children with me on Mother’s Day. ;)
If you’re stumped for Mother’s Day ideas, and you’ve got a generous budget work with, why not consider the gift of cord blood banking? Obviously, this would only be a relevant gift for a mother-to-be, or a mother that is planning on having another baby, but if you know a woman who fits into either of those categories, then it’s a good gift indeed.
With cord blood banking, a woman is able to preserve the stem cells that are found in the umbilical cord blood. The stem cells can be preserved indefinitely, and used to treat over seventy various diseases and disorders, including anemia and leukemia. And as I type this, additional research is being done on stem cells, to see what other diseases and disorders they may be able to treat or cure.
