I sweated my effing balls off tonight

Seriously. Fifteen minutes on the elliptical, an hour on the treadmill (started at 2.5, moved up to 2.8, then 3.0, then 3.3, then back down to 2.0 during the last ten minutes, and an additional five minutes of “cool down” at 1.4), and then did a bunch of different weights with Dan. I leg-pressed 190 lbs. And altogether, weights aside (I had no way of logging that), I burned off 700 calories. I probably sweated off a pound, too. (Thank god for absorbent cotton tank tops, towels and really good deodorant!)

(Also, thank god for iPods, comfortable Sony ear bugs, bottled water, and a sexy husband to check out while he’s lifting weights and doing the different machines.)

And now it’s not even 1am, and I’m wiped. I can’t wait to go to bed, as I have a new book to read a few chapters of. I’ve heard nothing but good things about A Thousand Splendid Suns, so I picked it up yesterday, and promised myself I’d start it as soon as I finished re-reading Bitter is the New Black.
Note to self: update goodreads account!

When we got home tonight, Dan surprised me with my Mother’s Day(!!!) present. Yes, early, but he was too excited to wait any longer:

It’s so beautiful. And so touching. I’ve been wanting a “mother’s ring” for years! *melt* ♥ ♥ ♥

Okay, bed for me. Here’s to hoping I can MOVE in the morning!

  1. That’s a gorgeous ring! I love it. Is that pattern repeated all around the band? So pretty! :)

And wow, so much exercise! But good for you! :) I only go for runs in 30 min increments, give or take. You have a lot of discipline :)

Oooooh. Duh. I saw the pics of the Mother’s ring but I thought it was for YOUR mom. *facepalm*

And holy EFF on the hour of treadmill. Wtf chica? Don’t overdo it! I couldn’t even do that. I hope you can wake up in the morning…

  3. The ring is gorgeous! I want a mother’s ring, but nobody is around to buy it for me :( LOL I’ll live. You’re working your butt off! You’re gonna be so sore in the morning.

Holy crap, that’s a lot of workout time!! That’s a lot more than I ever could do at once, geesh.

Wow, that ring is beautiful! I can only imagine how excited Dan was to give it to you so early! Atleast he did think of you this Mother’s Day and you truly deserve it!

  5. I can’t stand being on that machine for more then 15 minutes. Take today easy…. don’t forget to stretch a few times thought the day..

That is a gorgeous ring. I’m getting a hanging basket (I’m jealous!!)

  6. I need to start exercising again. Not to lose weight because I’m actually trying to gain weight. I just want to get in better shape, and exercising always makes me feel good. I guess because it releases endorphins into the brain or something. What I really need to be doing is some crunches/ab exercises so I can get my toned stomach back. I miss it.

  7. @Anna: I find it interesting that you would leave insulting questions on my Q&A page, then leave a comment on this entry under the pretense of being friendly and wanting to share something that might be relevant to me. With that said, I can assure you that my marriage is fine. If anything, our relationship has strengthened under the strain of having an autistic child.

P.S. Feel free to piss off.

  8. A Thousand Splendid Suns IS an amazing book. I hope you get the chance to start reading it. I would totally fall into bed without even looking at the book after that kind of a work-out. But it really is a great book. Heh.
