Our kid-free weekend should kick off around 6pm, which is when I’ll be dropping off Alyssa and Ryan with Dan’s brothers. I’m not quite sure if I’ll know what to do with myself. With the exception of a few hours here and there, and of course our four day mini-vacation in Pittsburgh, I haven’t been without kids since before I had them! Poor Dan… with his work schedule, he won’t really have the opportunity to enjoy the time without Alyssa and Ryan, except for at night, since we’ll be able to stay up as late as we want without worrying about who’s going to get up in the morning. ;) It’ll be so nice to relax, and then relax some more!
Today it’s almost hot out. Yuck. I almost miss the rainy, dreary weather, because at least along with it came cooler temperatures! But overall, I think I prefer the sunny days. It’s nice to have a home that is brightly lit and not dim, dark and dreary. Today was also Alyssa’s second-to-last day of preschool (Monday is her last day, and Wednesday there is some sort of picnic), and Ryan’s last day. She is all excited about the prospect of going to the beach this summer (something we’re trying to work out — we’re looking at a four day weekend trip in late June, or more likely a three or four day trip in August. June would be better because it’s a lot cheaper, but schedule-wise August would be the better choice.), thanks to the teacher deciding to have a beach-themed day, complete with letting the kids come to preschool in their swimsuits, summer clothes and with various beach accessories. I also received a Mother’s Day card for Ryan (Alyssa gave me hers yesterday), the marigolds from both of them:

Awww! Happy Mother’s Day!!!
Aww those plants are so cute! I’d rather take the sunny days any day! I hope you enjoy your weekend!
