My dog is retarded*. I have no idea what the hell happened, but one minute Leah’s in the kitchen, inside her (open) crate, drinking some water from her bowl. Next thing I know she’s flying into the living room as if hounds from hell were at her heels, and the water bowl and neighboring food bowl are upended, and there’s water-soaked kibbles scattered all over the kitchen. I just finished cleaning up the mess and putting out fresh water, and she’s still looking towards the kitchen suspiciously, as if something is going to jump out at her.
I have to say, Wednesday drastically improved as the afternoon went on. I got a lot of work out of the way, and once the kids were down for their afternoon nap, I broke the seal on my NEW LAPTOP OMG ITS SEXINESS IS INCREDIBLE new HP dv7t laptop and set it up. I’ve been at it off and on between Wednesday evening and now, removing the bloatware, setting preferences and customizations, installing programs, and transferring over my old laptop’s saved files from my desktop and from the external.
See? Sexy. Although I must admit, I’m not a big fan of the black display casing. Why make the whole laptop white (with shiny silver trim) but leave that black? Oh well. I’ll get used to it. Besides that, the larger resolution (1600 x 900 baby!!!) and the full keyboard (oh number pad, how I missed thee!), everything is pretty much the same, since this laptop is the big sister of the dv5t.
Not much else is happening. Ryan’s last day of preschool is tomorrow, and Alyssa’s last day is on Monday. There’s a two week, five-days-per-week, 9am-1pm summer camp being held at the local playground/pool, and I’m thinking of enrolling Alyssa. I know she’d love it, and it would give Ryan and I some uninterrupted time to work on his speech. He’s doing really good (we’re progressing to sentences! “Mah-yee, you got dot dogs?” “Mah-yee, I got yoni chee!”), but Alyssa likes to “take over” for him with talking, and with many other tasks as well. It’s annoying, Ryan gets frustrated or just walks away, and Alyssa turns into a little drama queen because she’s not the center of the universe. Oy.
Speaking of the kidlets and their incredibly OY factor, I’ll be taking them over to Dan’s brothers’ on Friday evening, and picking them up on Sunday afternoon. I’m not going to lie: I AM looking forward to it, and I probably WON’T miss them (at least, not very much, and certainly not enough that I’d go and see them or bring them home early!). It’s going to be so quiet. Dan and I won’t know what to do with ourselves… though I’m sure we’ll think of a few things. ;)
*And there you have it. I am not only a terrible animal abuser, but I’m an animal insulter, too! There’s surely a special place reserved in doggy hell for me.

My roommate’s puppy is messy like that too. I think she just likes splashing around in the water dish, but it can be annoying to fill a five gallon container only to find a good portion of it on the floor minutes later!
Also, HP computers are <3. There’s a desktop at CostCo that I’ve got my eye on once I can afford it to replace my zombie laptop.
gotta love having a new toy to play with!!
sentences!
Wow smexy computers!! I’m sorry Leah has been a little troublemaker lately. Hopefully she calms down soon. Silly puppy!
