There’s nothing like getting away from everything for a while. For me, “a while” is roughly translated into two and a half hours, but hey, that’s two and a half hours more than I normally get completely to myself on any given day, so I was happy to take it! I grabbed my camera bag and hit the road. I drove around aimlessly for about two hours, in some cases getting somewhat lost, but not really caring because a) I knew the general direction I needed to stay in b) I could see the radio towers that are not far from my mom’s house, so I had a “familiar” landmark to aim for and c) I always carry my Garmin with me, and my cellphone has GPS and Google Maps on it.
I took over 500 photos, got mooed at by a cow, and traipsed through plenty of ditches and high grass in order to get some great shots without getting hit by a car or Amish buggy. I had so much fun… which sounds a bit pathetic. Heh.
Anyway, dinner is cleaned up, dishes are done, Ryan is medicated, both he and Alyssa have received their vitamins, and bedtime will be in about seven minutes. Yay! Then I’m snagging the TV for a few hours. I have a whole bunch of stuff on the DVR to work my way through.
I no longer worry about getting lost for reason C (garmin). I’ll drive down any street to just “wander” around the city :p Can’t wait to see some picture
I wish i could go out somewhere and take alot of pics. i took like 50 of shadow and me in the yard the other day..and i was having a particularly rough looks dept. day!
we have a GPS but the hubby never uses it. but getting lost is half the adventure.

Ahh jealous. I haven’t been able to do that in 2 years at LEAST. I think my photography has gotten rusty because I hardly have the chance to shoot anything/anyone these days.
