SeaWorld’s newest ride, Manta, is now open! Manta is the only roller coaster of its kind. It suspends riders face-down and head-first, and during your ride you’ll get to experience the incredible views of SeaWorld. The ride starts out by providing those waiting in line with an amazing view of floor-to-ceiling aquariums that showcase all sorts of fish, sea dragons, groups of rays and even an enormous Pacific octopus. Then it’s time to board the Manta, which will send you around on steel rails, going up, down, back and forth, through various spins and all around.
Here’s a video showcasing exactly what the Manta does:
I have to say, I love roller coasters, and if I thought that I might be anywhere near SeaWorld this summer, I would be tempted to go ride Manta. However, I’m many states away from Florida, and I have no plans to get on a plane anytime soon. ;)
If you think you might be going to SeaWorld this summer, you’ll definitely want to enter to win a front-of-the-line pass to Manta. You can do so at ridemanta.com. The process is as simple as following the following steps:
- Create an account at ridetheflyingray.com and login.
- Follow @RealShamu on Twitter.
- Provide answers to the quiz that is on ridetheflyingray.com — answers are found throughout the site!
Good luck to anyone who chooses to enter!

That think kinda freaks me out, but in a good way. I’ve never been on a roller coaster, but as one of my 101 goals I’m gonna have to!
That one looked scray as hell! ;p
That looks AMAZING!! Ahh, I wish I could try that one out. Ugh, I wish we had good theme parks around my area.
Wow … that looks AWESOME! I haven’t been to sea world in ages and that ride makes me want to go :D
WHOA! That looks super fun, I can’t wait to try it!
One day, that is… when I make it down to FL. LOL.
That looks fantastic!!! I’ve actually never been to Sea World.
