Today is turning out to be a really good day. I caught up on all my domesticated duties (I would so fail as a 50′s housewife. Have I mentioned that I don’t even know how to sew? And that the only thing I have ever ironed is an iron-on transfer onto a t-shirt? And that I routinely microwave vegetables?), and I knocked out two projects within three hours time. Normally I get sidetracked by this, that and the other thing and spend about three hours just doing one project, so to get two done so early in the day is just awesome. I just may do another one later tonight.
I’m excited about going out today. I get to drive my CAR, which once again has A/C! Last month my mom brought it back to me after borrowing it for a few days, and remarked that I must be out of freon, because the car was churning out nothing but warm air, regardless of the temperature settings. Well, the air wasn’t just warm. It was hot. So we thought it was out of freon, and picked up a new can of it the other day. Dan went to put it in last night, but found that there was already a full supply of freon. So now we’re like, WTF? It isn’t the freon, it isn’t a leak (the lines were full), it isn’t the compressor (since the blower works). So what is it? Well, yay for mad search engine skills and Wiki Answers. The answer was… some stupid ass switch located beneath the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle that’s located within foot-kicking range, and if switched over will churn out nothing but heat. Stupid, I know. WHY such a switch even exists is beyond me, but it does. It took maybe ten seconds to locate the switch, and another 0.02 seconds to flip it back, and presto, no more dying in the car on a hot day. So there you have it. If you have a Kia Spectra (I have an ’02, but I’m assuming this switch is present in most Spectras, regardless of year), and your vents suddenly kick out hot air, look for the switch beneath the dashboard.
I’m even more excited about going to see Dan at work, because before work he went to pick up my rings. My engagement ring and my mother’s ring have been at the jeweler’s for a few weeks now for a resizing (mother’s ring) and repair to the band (engagement ring), but he had something else done to the engagement ring too. I’m excited because I want to see what he has up his sleeve, but mostly because I want my engagement ring back. I miss wearing it!
I’m also excited because I don’t have to cook dinner tonight. ;) My mom was dying for pot roast, but couldn’t find a really teensy one, so she invited us over to help her eat it. Heh.

I am glad that you found out what was wrong with it!
Wow that’s weird about the car, but I’m glad you figured it out. That is poor design if you can just kick a switch like that. Strange.
I’m glad you got AC again. I would die without it. I hope you get your rings back soon!
