Count your blessings.
I tend to think of myself as a fairly optimistic person. I’m realistic and I certainly have my down moments, and I also have a bit of a temper (verbally; I am definitely not a violent person!) and quite the loud mouth, but in general I tend to view the glass as being half full. No matter how bad a situation may be, there is almost always hope, some chance of moving up.
Anyway, the book suggests that I share some of the blessings/positives in my life, so here I go!
- Daniel. He is seriously my best friend and my soul mate. Even when we squabble or I get infuriated over his refusal to clean out the car, clean up his desk, throw out the trash or wipe off the table, I’m still so thankful that we met and fell in love. I seriously cannot imagine what life would be like without him.
- My kids! Duh. This is a given. And a bit of a cop-out, so I’ll try to list other things as well.
- My mother. She drives me bananas, but she’s still my mom, I love her, and I’m glad that she is in my life.
- Fluffy kitties!
- My own car. Being a two-vehicle household seriously kicks some ass.
- The fact that I don’t drink soda, milk or tea! It makes watching calorie consumption so much easier. And I can continue to guzzle water all day long guilt-free.
- Losing 25 lbs. in seven weeks!!! (photo is family & friends only)
- Air conditioning. In my house and in both cars!
- Summer. Sweating isn’t fun, but I love long swishy skirts, spaghetti-strap tank tops, SWIMMING and THE BEACH (WHEE JUST 3.5 WEEKS TO GO!)
- Friends (both offline & online) to talk to and confide in.
- Rice cakes. Nom nom nom.
- Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels collection. Heaven in a bottle, seriously.
- My clients! Without them we wouldn’t be doing nearly as well as we are. In fact, we’d be seriously strapped for every last penny and probably not having or doing 75% of the stuff we have and do.
- You guys. Support and general e-companionship is so wonderful. <3
- My camera and its lenses. Drool. Drool. Drool. See?

Ugh I wish I could kick the “other beverage” habit. It was SO easy when I was preggers with my oldest, but this one I can’t seem to do it.
OHHH lucky you and your A/C, I have it car wise obviously, but house wise… we have a A/C unit…. one… unit…. for a house…. rightttt.
You really are blessed! I wish I could have seen that photo, congrats on the weight loss. I’ve been trying but I lose 2lbs, gain 2lbs. I’ve been at a steady weight since Alyssa was born pretty much, It’s kind of frustrating!
I really jealous of your photo skills.
Gonna have to get some lessons from you.
It’s getting hard to tell which of those kids is older.
You have lots of things to be thankful for! I enjoy reading posts like this, because it makes me stop and think about the great things I have in my life…things that, I will admit, I sometimes take for granted.
BTW, I love how you’re using the No One Cares book for your blog entries. I have that book, have flipped through it a dozen times, but haven’t actually applied any ideas. I may start using them, so I will have some interesting posts!
great list. i did one of these, but yours is definitely better.
Fantastic list. I think it’s great to stop every once in a while to think about what you are really fortunate to have.
my photography equipment is definitely one of the things i’m the most thankful for as well!
I think I am liking this book and the “themes.” You have beautiful photography skills and should seriously consider doing professional photos. If you lived close, I’d totally hire you to take pictures of my babes for me.
