My grandfather died this afternoon at 2:00pm. I’m so relieved and so sad at the same time. My mom is holding up a little better than I thought she would, though I suppose having nine days to prepare for someone dying does help a bit.
Thank you all for the kind comments, both here and on Twitter, and for your emails. I’m doing okay. Dan is with me — the three of us are at the hospice center right now. Jason came over right after I got the call from my mom, and I went and picked up Dan, and then we came here. Right now we’re just waiting. No longer waiting for my grandfather to die, thankfully. We’re waiting for the funeral home to come and get my grandfather, and then we’re going over to the funeral home to make all of the arrangements.

He’s in a better place now; no more suffering if he was in the first place. I send all my best wishes to you and your family, Jenn. I’ve read the blogs you’ve been writing the last week or so and you’re a strong woman, you’ll be okay!

As someone who has been there and done that, I am so very sorry for your loss. It’s never easy, but know he is in a better place and with your grandmother again. ((((((HUGS))))))
