My grandfather died this afternoon at 2:00pm. I’m so relieved and so sad at the same time. My mom is holding up a little better than I thought she would, though I suppose having nine days to prepare for someone dying does help a bit.
Thank you all for the kind comments, both here and on Twitter, and for your emails. I’m doing okay. Dan is with me — the three of us are at the hospice center right now. Jason came over right after I got the call from my mom, and I went and picked up Dan, and then we came here. Right now we’re just waiting. No longer waiting for my grandfather to die, thankfully. We’re waiting for the funeral home to come and get my grandfather, and then we’re going over to the funeral home to make all of the arrangements.

As someone who has been there and done that, I am so very sorry for your loss. It’s never easy, but know he is in a better place and with your grandmother again. ((((((HUGS))))))
You and your whole family are in my prayers. Loosing someone especially someone so close is hard. I am always told “time heals all wounds” and I know it doesn’t help now but, I promise things will get better! I hope you have a wonderful weekend Jenn keep your head up and I will pray for you!
