7. Cringe-worthy past

It may be my birthday, but that doesn’t mean I can’t embarrass myself. The book is directing me to showcase old and cringe-worthy blog entries or photographs. Well, you can find plenty of cringe-worthy blog entries just by digging around in my archives, so I’ll treat you to a photograph.

12/1996 (by Jenn ?)

As you can see by the date, this photo was taken in 1996. I was twelve. I had this… THING … for open flannel shirts (a lot of them were hand-me-downs from my grandfather) with t-shirts underneath. (If it helps my fashion faux pas, the following year I swapped out the t-shirts for cleavage-revealing tank tops) I enjoyed wearing multiple, mis-matched necklaces, and wide head bands and head wraps that often featured smiley faces. (I grew out my bangs two years later) Check out the mom jeans. You know you love them!

Oh, and the 17 month old baby I’m holding in the picture? That’s my baby brother. The same one that is now almost fourteen years old and two inches taller than me!

Oooh wow. lol. Happy Birthday!!! I used to do the flannel thing. Actually I still do on occasion but in the outdoor setting. I’m SO glad there aren’t digital photos of me in middle school lol.

Happy birthday! You have certainly changed, and definitely for the better! We’ve all had embarassing years of adolescence, myself especially, haha.

Aah, digging up the embarrassing photos. I’m glad those styles went out of fashion!
Btw, I’m Serina, I just started a blog on WordPress. Just popping around to the blogs I’ve heard of and seen before to say hi :).

    Oh, happy belated birthday!

Haha, I used to wear flannel shirts too at that age (stolen from my Dad). I had a blue one that I would wear over blue floral leggings… with white scrunchie socks and big sneakers. Fashion victim from a young age!

I never had a flannel shirt stage… It helped that my dad never wore them. =) I also try to avoid looking at older photos of me. Sometimes there are the strangest things that I do that get caught on camera.

My husband used to dress like that. I made him stop because it just wasn’t him. But it kinda looks cute on you :D

Hah :) if it makes you feel better, I lived outside L.A. in ’96 and we are just a few months apart- all of my friends wore those shirts with either t-shirts or t-shirts+overalls underneath. It was the style! I never wore them because I was never stylish :P

    Happy Birthday, Jenn.
