I’m pretty sure I’ve lamented on my lack of cooking and baking skills in the past. I can do enough to put together decent meals, and I can follow the instructions on the back of a box or follow along with a basic recipe, but anything more than that and I feel like I’m in over my head. My speed is pre-made cookie dough, recipes that involve nothing more than combining ingredients and baking at X° for X amount of minutes, and stuff I can throw in a skillet, pan, crock pot or casserole dish.
Yet here I am, stocked up on all of the materials I’ll need to make Hello Kitty cake pops:

Alyssa is spending the night with my mom*, and Ryan will be going to bed soon, so tonight is the perfect opportunity to give them a whirl.
Of course, I may be delayed for a while, seeing as how Blueboy has settled himself into my lap and seems content to stay there for a while. It’s like he’s cramming a month’s worth of affection into one “visit”. He’s purring, head butting, and every little bit rises up and butt his face against my cheeks and forehead and give me a few licks. He’s such a sweetheart. ♥
I’ll post back with pictures! Hopefully I can accomplish something that looks at least close to Hello Kitty!
*Despite the issues my mother and I are having, and her threats to remove me from my brothers’ contact lists, I’m not going to deny my daughter the opportunity to spend time with her grandmother, and vice versa.

Ooh those look amazing! Good luck making them! I expect to see a lot of adorable Hello Kitty pops on your Flickr later!
I’m glad that you can see past everything and don’t let your own feelings influence Alyssa’s relationship with her grandmother. I think that’s awesome and I know she’ll respect you a lot for that when she grows up.

I’ve made cake pops in several occasions and it’s something you need to have a LOT of dedicated time to. Each time the entire process has taken me no less than two hours.
They are pretty easy to make, just really time consuming. GOOD LUCK!

Ahhhh, I love Bakerella :D I have *not* tried making cake pops yet, but I so want to make them. I especially loved the bunny/Easter ones that she made.
I really love cooking more so baking. I love making cakes pies, and cupcakes. I got a delicious yellow cake recipe. but i hate cooking other things. I hate cooking chicken, or anything else that I have to thaw out and touch it’s dead flesh. I’m a little creeped and grossed out by it. Not that my chicken is horrible, my family says it’s good, but I can’t eat it if I cooked it because I’ll have the picture of how it was during preparation in my head. And so I just can’t eat then. It would be nice though if you mastered the kitty pops then you can make them for Alyssa’s birthday celebration, since she loves hello kitty.
