So it’s barely 12:30pm and I’ve been up for over four hours. Ew. Have I mentioned that I am not a morning person? Before leaving for work yesterday afternoon, Dan told me to go to sleep early, that I better be in bed when he gets home. Hah. Go to sleep early I most definitely did not do, though I was technically in bed when he got home around 2:00am.
So when the alarm went off at 8:15am my body was not too happy. But I got up, got dressed, made the kids breakfast while they got dressed, and we were out the door at 9:00am exactly. Alyssa flew into her classroom while I escorted Ryan in. I had to distract him with a wooden puzzle in order to sneak out, but that aside the day was uneventful. Of course, I didn’t speak to his teacher, Mrs. J, so I don’t know for sure. My mom picked up the kids for me because I was at home having a meeting with the agency that will be handling Ryan’s developmental, social and educational needs from now until he graduates high school (or for as long as they are needed).
September 28th, 2009 — that is when Ryan is set to begin attending a special developmental preschool, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited about it. I am eagerly anticipating peaceful afternoons with just Alyssa! Their preschool schedules look like this:
Mondays and Wednesdays: preschool for Alyssa & Ryan (9:05am-11:45am)
Tuesdays and Thursdays: developmental preschool for Ryan (8:45am-11:15am; transportation will be provided by the school district, WHEE!)
Friday: preschool for Alyssa (9:05am-11:45am)
I’m definitely putting notes in my Outlook calendar and will have paper copies of the school calendars hanging on our fridge. Otherwise it would be too easy to get confused!
So what did I do with my free time this morning? Well, I contemplated a nap, but since I plan on doing that this afternoon with the kids (I think we’re all tired: Ryan because he often naps in the afternoon, me because of not getting enough sleep, and Alyssa because she also didn’t get enough sleep. She was so excited for school that she didn’t fall asleep until after 1:00am, despite being in bed at 8:30pm!), I checked my email, watched the last half of a CSI episode, and watched the season two finale of True Blood. It was wickedly good, as always.
*yawn* Nap time, take me away!
