Where did my afternoon go?

Ryan’s initial evaluation for developmental delays and possible autism was done in December of 2007. We had one initial evaluation and then a follow-up meeting, and then therapy services started — a special instructor on one day each week, and an occupational therapist on another day each week. Ryan was evaluated and “officially” diagnosed with autism in June 2008, and then services continued.

But now that he’s three, it’s like a whole new ball of wax. So far I’ve taken him to an evaluation, taken him to preschool orientation, met with his occupational therapist, met with his services coordinator to go over his evaluation results and IEP, met with a potential preschool aid, met with the occupational therapist a second time, handled several phone calls and filled out loads of paperwork. And that’s just in the past two weeks. He has another evaluation this Thursday, with a different agency, for the purpose of setting him up with a TSS, and I’m sure there will be at least another meeting and an orientation in order to get him ready for going to the developmental preschool in two weeks.

I’m tired, and it’s only 3:00pm! I also think it’s rather ridiculous that I’m tired, considering that I went to bed last night at 11:00pm and slept until almost 9:00am!
