Let there be sprinkles

I apparently have a thing about sprinkles. I didn’t even realize just how MANY kinds of sprinkles I had until I started pulling them out of the cabinet. But they’re so cheap (those large square containers are rarely more than $3 apiece!) that I can’t resist. And it’s fun to have so many options for every season and holiday. Although I don’t have much in the way of Christmas-themed sprinkles, so I think I’ll keep an eye out this year and stock up on what the local grocery stores put out.

Right now I’m dealing with a definite butter overdose, and I didn’t even ingest much of it. I made two batches of Mom’s Christmas Shortbread cookies (Alyssa and Ryan decorated them, the kitchen table and the floor with the fall and Halloween themed sprinkles that are shown in the above photo), and holy crap the amount of butter (four sticks! That’s 1628 x 4 = 6512 calories! Way too many calories for this calorie and fat gram obsessed woman to be able to comprehend!) that went into them was just sickening. So sickening that I should have very little trouble staying away from those super-delicious cookies, which are now sealed tightly in containers.

Love sprinkles and your collection is drool worthy!! I tend to pick them up after the holidays at Walmart/Target/etc when they’re 50% for the Wilton ones. My grocery store doesn’t seem to have any fun ones just the normal all year round ones :(

I wish I had that many sprinkles! I wish I had backing supplies period :(. Maybe when we move to our new house I can get a pantry to actually stock up on!
