Hey, look! It’s a meme. Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve done of these, but here I go, with this week’s Friday 5.
- Which of your stories have you probably told the greatest number of times to the most people?
Honestly? Right now all that comes to mind is how I knew Ryan was autistic, how and when services were started and when he was officially diagnosed. Between preschool teachers and therapists and evaluators, wow, my head is just spinning with all of the names and information I’ve had to remember and repeat over and over and over.
I’ve probably also told a lot of people about how I met Daniel, and was giving birth to Alyssa and having Ryan was like. - What’s a story someone else often tells about you, much to your chagrin?
My mom insists on telling anyone who’ll listen — including me — about how she threw up all over me at an amusement park when I was about seven years old. I’d tell it to you guys, except I am SO. VERY. TIRED. of hearing all about it, that I can’t be bothered to dredge it up yet again. - What oft-told story from a chapter in your life seems to be remembered differently by different people who were there?
Just about anything that happened about/with/to me that my mother was present at. To hear her tell it, she also helps to raise Alyssa, since she’s over there “so much” (translation: for 1-3 nights every 6-8 weeks because Alyssa adores being the center of attention and being spoiled). - What are some of the details, without retelling the whole story, of a story you’ve told often but never to your parents?
Good question… maybe how Dan and I met? I mean, my mom knows the basics — we met at Burger King, we had our first date on August 16th, 2000 and went to Six Flags amusement park — but she doesn’t know the details of how we talked, when we decided we liked each other, how co-workers urged us on, etc. - What song would be an appropriate soundtrack to the story of your most embarrassing moment?
Let me get back to you on that. I’m not good with the whole song-for-a-moment thing.

Yay for Friday five, I did my first one the other day well I remembered to do it this time
Ha ha love how you and Dan met
Cute meme, it’s funny how stories can get twisted up. My mom sometimes does the same thing, and I’ve learned just to let her to tell the story and not argue!
Ughh this statement
she also helps to raise Alyssa, since she’s over there “so much” (translation: for 1-3 nights every 6-8 weeks because Alyssa adores being the center of attention and being spoiled).
is far to close to home for us! My step mom always did this with my step sister and claimed she raised my nephew. Not the case. She’s recently been cut out of their lives and she’s told anyone who will listen that she’s raised him. Granted my step sister is no saint, but we cut the step mom out of our lives as well and she’s doing the same with us.
Apparently now we used her as a babysitter and never even asked, just dropped the kid off. She was always there, paid for everything. To the contrary Sydney spent Saturday night’s there and that was sporadic. Towards then end she cried to come home if she was left there over night so it never happened.
Some people just have a hard time not taking credit for what others do! The amount of photos you have of your children and the activities you do with them is proof enough that you have them 95% of the time!
