I admit that in the past Dan and I have used payday loans. They’re a definitely thing of the past, but I’m grateful for their ease of availability and the no-credit requirements that most payday loan companies have. I will tell you, however, that payday loans are EXPENSIVE. We paid about $20 interest per $100 borrowed. So a $300 payday loan cost us $360. Crappy, eh? But when you’re desperate (these were the days before I freelanced), you’ll take it, even if it means kicking out an additional $60 later on down the line.
I can’t even tell you what we used the few payday loans we took out for. Bills, obviously, as it is downright stupid to get a payday loan and pay all that money just to buy electronics or some other nonsense. I think we paid for the flat tire the Hyundai got in October ’05 with one, and we might have paid an urgent bill with another.
If you find that you need a quick cash loan, eQuickPayday.com is an option. I haven’t used them myself, but if they’re like the other payday loan companies that I’ve hooked up with in the past, they’re probably decent and straightforward. As always, do your research and be sure to look over all terms and conditions before applying for and accepting a payday loan.
