That’s a damn good question. Every little bit classmates.com sends me an email to let me know that someone of this gender and of this age and in this location it’s searching for me. According to them, last week a 39 year old man in the next town over searched for me on classmates.com. Really? Why? I have no idea what type of connection I would have — if any — with a 39 year old man. That’s a 14 year age difference. Ew.
Anyway, I sometimes search for people, or for confirmation of their phone numbers or addresses, but that’s only for specific reasons. I don’t do it just to be all stalkerlicious. But I could. And anyone could, really. MyLife is one of those sites that produces results from multiple sources. So if I were to search for my best friend from 5th grade, I’d probably find listings of his name and possibly a phone number and maybe even an address from the white pages, Facebook, MySpace, classmates.com, and a bunch of others.
MyLife is free to use for a quick search, but if you want to view the actual results in detail (more than just the teaser name and cities they’ve lived in), you’ll need to fork over some cash. But if you really want to find someone, such as an ex, an old friend or maybe a long last family member, the service could be well worth paying for.
