Ever since my surgery I have been in a nearly constant state of feeling chilly. I’ve heard it can take a while for my body to regulate its temperature and such after such a dramatic change and quick weight loss, but I’ve also heard that sometimes the regulation never occurs, meaning I might feel chilly frequently for the rest of my life. What a change from feeling hot and wanting the air on in early spring and late fall! Anyway, Dan has a pair of wool socks that I am insanely jealous of. I don’t have any wool socks, and I want some, because my feet are frequently cold.
The closest thing I have are a few pairs of thick black socks that are reinforced around the toes and heel, but they’re extremely low-rise — so low-rise, in fact, that they wind up getting bunched up inside my shoes (I swear, that is one of the most annoying sensations in the world!).
So I want wool socks. And after checking out Ramblers Way and their extensive line of wool clothing, I’m thinking I might revise my opinion on other types of wool clothing. Up until this point I’ve been under the impression that wool is a pain in the butt, because of its tendency to shrink. I remember a cute yellow wool sweater I had when I was a child. My mom’s second husband tossed it in the dryer by accident, and poof, the sweater that did fit a ten year old suddenly was too small for a five year old to wear. I seriously cried over that sweater, I’ll have you know.
But according to Ramblers Way, there are special kinds of wool that can get wet, be washed, dried in the dryer, etc. Sweet! Now that I’ve “re-imagined” what wool can do, I may seriously get myself some wool clothing to snuggle up in.
