This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Wheat Food Council. All opinions are 100% mine.
Wheat is in a lot of food products — more than just the obvious ones like cream of wheat and shredded wheat. Wheat is a pretty basic staple, which is why having a wheat allergy would really, really suck, and why I am so glad that I do not have one!
Anyway, the process that takes wheat from the field to the kitchen table is a fairly complex one — more complex than I’ve certainly realized. And the Wheat Foods Council is looking to educate people on the entire process, while at the same time benefitting U.S. troops and their families! The Wheat Foods Council promises to donate two pounds of flour for every person that signs up at How Wheat Works and completes all four phases of the program. Up to 90,000 pounds will be donated via OperationHomefront.net — that’s a lot of flour, which in turn can make a lot of different breads, pastries and desserts!
And via wheatfoods.org, blogs, Facebook and Twitter, Whole Foods Council is doing their best to reach out to younger generations to educate them on the importance of wheat and just how big of a role in plays in food.
