Me! I started off my morning by pulling up bookmarked recipes for fried shrimp, fried scallops, spiffily seasoned baked potatoes and wannabe Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits; AKA Dan’s Favoritest Foods Ever (though an exception might need to be made for steak). I tossed several spiffily seasoned potatoes into the oven, spent nearly an hour removing heads, tails, legs, shells, veins and poop (yes, poop) from a pound of shrimp; then I whipped up the batters for the fried shrimp and fried scallops; and when the potatoes were just about finished I whipped up the batter for the wannabe Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits and got those baking in the oven, and then set to frying up the shrimp and scallops.
(As I type this, half of a kitchen’s worth of mixing bowls, measuring spoons, measuring cups and dishes fill up both my sinks and part of my kitchen counter.)
After a thoroughly delicious lunch that was thoroughly enjoyed, minus…
- me throwing up after eating a piece of biscuit and one solitary shrimp too quickly
- Ryan crying over the shrimp that he “broke” (the fried batter fell off of it
…Dan, Alyssa and I played some more Super Mario Bros. Dan, Jason and I beat Bowser and thus the entire game last week, but we still had some coins to collect from a few worlds. All that was left today was three coins in a rather pain in the ass level in world 6, and then at least half of the coins in world 8. Ugh, I HATE world 8. Lava, falling meteors and rolling cloud of doom? I’ll pass, thank you. But we did get a lot of coins collected today; I think there’s just a secret level to unlock in world 8 and its coins to collect, and then we’re ready to move onto world 9 and complete it!
And finally, right before Dan had to leave for work, I pounced on him and sent him off after a quickie that he thoroughly enjoyed. ;)
So to recap, the awesome wife award goes to ME because:
1. I made a delicious, mouthwatering lunch
2. I played video games for over an hour
3. I put out on a moment’s notice
Win!
