Better late than never, right?

I just posted yesterday’s video blog entry. I did record the video last night, but unfortunately did not get it uploaded and posted until this morning. I had plans to do my video blog entry last night after the kids were bed, but after Jason and I took them to Chuck E. Cheese, we stopped at Friendly’s for ice cream. Even though I ordered a small vanilla soft serve & peanut butter mix, and ate less than half of it, I wound up dumping really bad. I came home and went straight to bed, intending on just laying down for a while. I even had my laptop on its bed tray, all ready to use when I woke up. Unfortunately, I didn’t wake up until almost midnight. I let the dog in, took my contacts out, recorded a very quick video on my cell phone, and then went back to bed.

So anyway, the video is up, and I’m about to start processing the photos I took for yesterday’s 365 Days. I’m determined not to miss a single day, even if it means getting the photo done on the right day but not getting that photo uploaded until the next day!

Right now my internet connection speed is excruciatingly slow, and my server is slow on top of that. Grrr x 1000.

The new layout is up, as you can all see. Thank you so much for the positive feedback on it! I’m glad you like it. I love it. ♥ You know what’s cute? The photo I chose for my new avatar fits right in with this theme (pink makeup, heart necklace), and that is a complete coincidence!
The layout would have been up sooner, but I was having a lot of trouble with the usual convert-title-to-an-image plugin and this particular font. The bottom of each image title kept getting cut off, presumably because of the tails of the letters going beyond the standard boundary for a font. But I managed to get things working perfectly by installing TTF Titles instead, and adding a vertical-extending white shadow background to force the image to be larger, thus allowing enough room for the entire font to be included. Win!

So with that said, I’m going to get back to tweaking some of the plugins I have installed. Currently there are over 30 active ones, and I can’t help but wonder if the sheer number of active plugins are contributing to the slowness of my site today!

P.S. Have you entered my Eden Fantasys Valentine’s Day Giveaway?

  1. I have a crapload of plugins, too, but I really do use most of them.

  2. Glad you got the titles to work. It’s a really pretty font. I’ve downloaded that plugin to start playing with on my test site :) Now if I can get this layout I’m working on to come out just as clean as this one I’ll be happy lol!

Well at least now I know how to fix that problem on the plug-in. I’ve had the same issue forever and didn’t use it for a while. Now I’m using it but ended up finding a font that didn’t drop down. I do love the theme.. you did a really good job. :)

Ice cream is almost always going to be a big fat no. Between the sugar in it and the lactose you’re just asking for trouble there. Add in toppings and yes, dump city. :( I can’t even drink milk with anything containing any sugar because it’s always a trigger. At this point in the game you shouldn’t even be experimenting with sugar. Go sugar free completely. There are tons of alternatives and not all of them taste bad. You’ll lose weight a lot faster and you’ll feel so much better once the craving has worked it’s way out of your system – and it WILL. After awhile you’ll associate most desserts with the thought of dumping and that alone will keep you away from it. I know it’s hard to not be “normal” and a lot of us go into it thinking we can just eat like everyone else in smaller amounts. That’s not really true for the first 18 months. Especially for the first 6 months. You are more than likely throwing up so often because you’re eating too fast, too much and your pouch is already irritated. Take a few days off of solid foods, stick with the protein shakes and then try again once your pouch is happy again. If that still doesn’t work please talk to your surgeon. It’s possible that the exit of your pouch has healed too small and it’s causing back ups. That can be fixed easily if need be.
