Almost doesn’t count

I’m able to comfortably wear a pair of size 18 jeans from Kohl’s, but it seriously seemed to good to be true. So to prove my theory that Kohl’s jeans simply run big, I tried on a pair of size 18 Merona jeans at Target today. I initially thought they were a 20, because that’s what I could have sworn I grabbed from the hanger, but after I pulled them up and was discouraged to find that there was a two inch gap between the button and the hole, I checked the size and was absolutely thrilled to find that they were in fact an 18! What does this mean? I’m not only almost in an 18, a size I couldn’t have dreamed of ever being able to wear again, but I am definitely in a size 20! That, along with the amusement of switching what was once a tight-fitting ring from my ring finger to my middle finger to my index finger, has totally made my day. I’m continually amazed at how far I’ve come, and in such a short amount of time!

I’m currently working on a delicious baked potato that Jason topped with meat & bean laden chili (protein!), cheddar cheese (more protein!) and sour cream (some protein!). The one perk of having to eat a half dozen small meals throughout the day is getting to try all sorts of yummylicious items all of the time.

So while I have your attention (if I still do), here’s a question… what can I do to get you, the visitor, more interested in my blog? What would you like to read more of? What would you like to read less of? Should I include more photos? Less? More video blogs? Less video blogs? Give me your feedback. :)

LOL, Now see, I’ve always found the clothing at Target to actually run *smaller* than other places as opposed to other places clothes running big. For me, the best test of “true size” has always been Fashion Bug because they offer a wider range of sizes than other places. Lane Bryant here does not carry anything over a 24, so if you’re bigger than that, you’re out of luck. :(

Congrats on getting into smaller jeans. :)

  2. Photos grab the attention of readers, so more photos :). Since this is your personal blog, I wouldn’t worry about changing too much since it is your outlet to speak. I tried, I failed and now I’m back to the drawing board.

And so it doesn’t seem like I totally skipped over your weight loss triumphs, congrats :).

I’d like to see more tutorials since I see that you are pretty good with designing and stuff so it would help if you do some tutorials for people so you can show us how you do some of the stuff.

Congratulations! I read your blogs all the time and from previous blogs with pictures, you can tell that you’ve lost so much weight! I think it’s amazing since losing weight is such a hard thing to do these days. It’s really amazing and I’m happy for you! I know.. you probably think I’m weird, lol. But I’ve read your blogs a lot!

Stories about your kidlets, (weight loss) photos, design tutorials… wp themes? :) I enjoy all your personal posts!

  9. Some photos and definitely vlogs would be awesome. Echo on the tutorials, that’d be fun to read. And cause I’m weird, I wouldn’t object to more free ranting :P

More video blogs please! :) Not that I don’t mind reading your blog, lol.
and about the jeans, I’ve learned not to trust I would be a certain size, cause they do vary between stores. In some I can easily grab and fit size 18 and in another I can’t fit to 20! So don’t be sad, it’s the shops fault! ;)

  11. I love the video blogs personally. They’re more.. personal? Congrats on the continued weight loss success. What’s your goal size? I know you have a goal weight but what size are you thinking would just be OMFG awesome.

I wouldn’t worry too much about changing, since it seems by the comments that people like just about every aspect you mentioned, heh. I, personally, rarely watch video blogs, though, but I love your photos and think you should post more.

I’ve been reading your site for awhile, and I suck at commenting, but I agree — Don’t change too much, I love your blogs! And it’s your personal space anyway. I do love seeing your progress pix/weight loss posts personally though :) Congrats on your progress!!

I’ve been reading your blog since Alyssa was a baby and I would say just keep doing what you’re doing! Posting about your weightloss has been an inspiration for me and I love keeping up with how everything’s going! Maybe post some before/after pics of your weightloss so far, like next to each other.

I’ve read your blog since Alyssa was an infant too, and the most interesting things about your blog (other than feeling like I know you when you’ve never met me) are funny stories about your kids, your “deep” posts like the one about the man who abused you and the letter you wrote to him, the memory blogs, the ones that follow up on various dramas like the ones with your brothers, and (although it’s terrible and horrible what she does) any post about something horrifying your mother does never ceases to hold my attention.

p.s. my favorite videos are the ones when your kids talk.

I like the video blogs. I’ve been getting into them a little bit myself. Personally I think video blogs let people see a side of you that you cant portray in writing.

More photos. I love your writing. I’m not too crazy about the video blogs though.
