The irony of not eating enough never ceases to amuse me. I mean, what got me into this whole mess to start with was bad food choices and eating too much. Now on the other side of gastric bypass, rather counting calories and fat grams religiously and cutting back on portions, I’m wishing I had the desire and physical capacity for more. I saw my nutritionist this morning for my first post-op visit. She’s disappointed with my daily protein intake, but admitted that many post-op patients have problems getting in all that they can. I recently ordered a protein sample kit from bariatriceating.com, and so long as I can stomach the taste & texture, I’ll be ordering 3 lb. containers of Isopure. It’s available in vanilla, chocolate and unflavored. I’m thinking vanilla for drinks and desserts, and unflavored for soups, casseroles, hot cereal, chili, etc.
Anyway, right now it’s pretty nice outside… mostly sunny and just about 50°. The kids have been kind of stir-crazy all weekend, so after we run to Target for a few essentials and two Lunchables, we’re going to go over to the local park to play until it gets dark or too cold (whichever comes first).
P.S. I finally updated my Links page!

I wouldn’t even know where I could get protein from – any tips?
Did you manage to tell your nutritionist about all the water you’ve been throwing up – just wondered if she was able to give you any advice
Well at least you’ve got something coming that will hopefully help you out on the protein problem. Yay for decent weather, it’s pretty good here today too, nice and sunny after all the rain yesterday. I’ve added some blogs to my reading list from your links and a couple to my blog as well, so yay for updated one!
