So I not only forgot to renew jenn.nu (it expired on January 1st, 2010), but I forgot to renew it within the four week grace period that is provided to .nu domains (which is why jenn.nu was still active, despite being expired), so it went beyond expired and into “not renewed” as of yesterday morning. I called GoDaddy in a panic and paid the renewal right away, but it took them nearly a day and a half to track down the domain and bring it back from almost-at-the-point-of-no-return.
So yeah, I’m an idiot. And from now on I’m going to renew jenn.nu on New Year’s Eve, so I don’t have to worry about this happening again. Ugh, this isn’t the first time I’ve forgotten about a renewal either. I swear, I’m such a moron at times!

I was wondering what happened. Glad you were able to get everything sorted out.
Don’t they send you an email or something before it’s due?
I have to renew my hosting before the 23rd of Feb. They sent me notice last month and I have been putting it off until the last minute -they keep sending me reminders-yes I know it has to be paid and I will-thank you!
My domains are hosted by a different bunch-two of them (domains) are payable on the same date in september,which is handy enough!

At least you went and paid for it ASAP. I just got hosted. It was faster and of course I can’t afford to pay the renew. So i let that just expire. haha. But i’m still back! Glad you’re doing great. I hope you remember next time. lol. I wrote it in all 3 of my calendars reminding me (phone calendar, personal, and home calendar) and still – i forgot

So glad you’re back! I’m up for renewal on both of my domains too, and I keep forgetting about it!! Here’s hoping I learn a lesson and remember ;)
I did the first time I owned Crazy–Talk.Org. I wasn’t getting the emails for some reason or another and I had the domain for 4 years or longer and then I lost it for a year. Then I finally got it back. It make me sad. So, sad! lol Glad to see you back!
As the queen of not renewing things I have to say I feel you on this. I love the idea of renewing on New Year’s Eve. I may pick New Year’s Day and renew mine. I think it’s due soon too. At any rate, I’m glad it’s back!!!

Oh man can I relate to that! I did the same thing but actually lost my domain name! grr Now I’ve got everything on auto renew so that I don’t have that issue again. Glad you got jenn.nu back!
Hee! I’ve done this a few times which usually just results in me changing domains. But yay for the site being back. Don’t let it happen again I was going through withdrawals lol
I get an email about a month in advance from namecheap.com when my website is due for renewal. I am surprised that you did not get an email, even after it expired to remind you that payment was due for renewal. I am glad everything is okay now.
I get like 500 emails from godaddy before mine’s set to expire and a couple of snail mail letters too
