Last weekend the temperature hit 70°. On Sunday afternoon the recorded high was 73°. Normally I’d be ranting and whining about hating warm weather and how this was just a miserable hint of what’s to come, but now that I’ve lost 109.2 lbs of “insulation” (heh), I’m FREEZING. The warm temps were a welcome relief, although I still wore a hoodie when I was outside with the kids (pathetic, I know). Last night the temps dipped down into the mid-40s, and I was miserably cold. I dragged Dan to bed when I went to bed so I could have someone to keep me warm, hah. Tomorrow night we’re supposed to go back down into the 30s, and the weekend is going to be chilly. Boo.
So don’t be surprised that I’m actually thinking about Florida in a favorable manner. This time last year I’d be like, “Florida? Where it’s hot ALL YEAR LONG? No thanks!”. But now I’m all, “Ooh, warm temperatures… I could go for that!” Florida has a lot to offer. Take Kissimmee, for example. Have you heard of it? Well, in Kissimmee, Florida, there is plenty to do! Besides the small town (like I don’t live in one or anything, heh) to explore, there are shopping destinations, amusement parks, outdoor golf & other sports and adventures, and of course the beaches. Mmm, beaches. I have to tell you, if I traveled all the way to FLorida it wouldn’t be for an amusement park or a mall. I’d be sprawled on the beach for the duration of my trip!
If I did ever end up in Kissimmee I’d have to go to Disney World, of course, since you can’t go to FL without at least spending a day there. But mostly I’d be on the beach. I’d be cheap and get a crappy little motel room, and only hang in it long enough to sleep, shower, and change. The majority of my time would be on the beach, since that’s the kind of scenery and experience I love the most.
Speaking of the beach, I need to bug Dan about when we’re going to the beach this summer… in the meantime, if you’re anywhere near Florida, or plan on going down there, go plan your dream vacation!
