I’m trying to get more involved in memes… here’s a fun one: That’s My Answer!
This week’s question: Other than time, what do you waste the most of?
Right now, my answer would be food. When I was about four weeks post-op, past the initial liquids/soft diet but not yet more adjusted to my new stomach and appetite (or lack thereof), I would stupidly order my own dish when Dan and I would go out to eat. I figured I could bring the leftovers home. Well, I could, and I did, but the leftovers were three quarters or more of what was on the plate when it was brought to me, and I couldn’t eat the stuff fast enough before it would go bad.
I’m still somewhat wasteful with food, but only because I vomit a lot, or I eat 2-3 bites, feel full-to-the-point-of-vomiting-if-I-take-another-bite, and so I leave the rest. Sometimes I’ll wrap it up and put it away for later, but most of the time I give it to the dog (who, through no coincidence I’m sure, has gained three pounds since November).
I promise, I’m trying to do better with food! These days I play it safe on the food wasting front by not even getting my own plate of food, whether we’re out or at home. I just pick off Dan’s plate, or the kids’ plates if he is at work.
