The one big thing I despise about being outdoors is the bugs. I hate ants. I hate flies — and they really annoy the crap out of me. I hate bees and wasps because I don’t want to get stung because I’m allergic. Fortunately they’re pretty easy to avoid and keep away, and even if they do come near, they generally don’t bother us. But mosquitoes? Ugh. Those little bastards are another story altogether. And now that the weather is warming up and we’re spending more time outside (I really want to get a swing this summer so I can enjoy warm summer evenings outdoors!), mosquitoes are definitely going to become a problem. They’re annoying as all get-out, and since there’s always the possibility of them carrying a virus such as West Nile, I’d much rather not get bitten!
What do you guys use to battle mosquitoes? When I was a kid in summer camp I would spray down myself and my stuff with mosquito repellent, and it worked pretty well. I’m not opposed to going that route, but I’d much rather follow the “set it and forget it” (I forget where that quote comes from, lol) route. I’m reading up on mosquito magnet traps and reading a mosquito magnet review, and it seems pretty promising. Apparently this device works by attracting mosquitoes to it, and then sucking the little bastards in. Have you seen the pictures posted on that review? It looks really promising!!! Since Dan and I are fixing up our yard this summer, I’m very tempted to add one of these mosquito magnet traps to our to-buy list and say buh-bye to mosquitoes!
Bugs love me… and naturally I freaking abhor them. I use OFF!’s sport spray when I go out because it is water/sweat resistant. It works pretty well, even on top of sunscreen.
