Scaredy-fish

I just can’t make this kind of stuff up:

Scaredy-fish says, "Ahh!"

Scaredy-fish says, "Run!"

Scaredy-fish says, "Hide!"

That right there is Ryan’s fish, Fish (named by Ryan, of course). Fish is a total scaredy-fish. He’s been with us for several weeks now, yet he is obviously not yet accustomed to us, or maybe just people in general, because that is exactly what he does when he realizes that someone has walked into Ryan’s bedroom — he HIDES! If I want to take a peek at him or maybe get a picture of him (because let’s face it, Fish is one gorgeous fish), I have to sneak in and angle my camera around the corner of Ryan’s dresser to get a shot. I got those straight-on shots tonight only because I snuck in during dusk, and just let the flash fire after I took a few non-flash shots. Once he hid though, that was it… he’ll pretty much stay hidden behind the fake plants, behind the Spongebob decor, and behind the filter. Silly Fish.

  1. Pretty odd for a beta! I’ve had other fish behave that way but never a beta. They are, after all, fighting fish.

  2. @Keeshia: This one must have had his balls whacked off, lol. I too am accustomed to these guys being more aggressive; or at the very least not as skittish as this one!

I love it when little kids name animals lol… Fish… awesome :)

  4. Aha, I love the name that Ryan gave him :) And I’m super glad to see that you’ve got decent sized tanks for your betta! Way too many people think it’s okay to keep them in itty bitty tanks, yay for space to swim around :D
