I am grateful.

I’m currently typing this on my netbook, as I sit on a large beach blanket (perfect for picnics!) that has been spread out under the shade of a tree at the local park. The remains of the kids’ lunch and the little nibbles of food I’ve had are nearby, along with two bottles of cold water. A local free wifi network is providing the glorious interwebs, which means a bit of work time for me while Alyssa and Ryan get to play their hearts out on the playground equipment and with their bicycles and scooter.

Every single day I’m appreciative of being able to work from home, but never so much as I am today. Being able to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and weather, and more importantly Alyssa and Ryan being able to enjoy it, while I still get to do some work, is SO damn awesome. If I had a traditional, regular “job” or “career” I would never be able to do this. I used to have that kind of life — Dan working 40-50 hours each week and me not far behind with 35-40 hours. We saw each other before bed and after we got up, and Alyssa was shuffled back and forth to my mother’s house. There wasn’t a lot of time for fun or play, or even for relaxing. Thank god those days ended when Alyssa was eighteen months old, so the only memories she has are of me being home with her and Ryan all of the time.

It’s days like these that I’m seriously reminded of how much I love life. ♥

I wish I could be a WAHM but currently I’m just a SAHM…. Maybe one day I can figure out something to do to be a WAHM… :)

Aw, I’m glad. I’ve just started the building blocks to (possibly) work at home, so you’re a big inspiration haha. And you look so pretty and happy!

  3. I don’t think I could work from home. I like to keep the two separate.. plus I’m a slave to procrastination when at home.

In the photo you posted at the bottom, you can REALLY see the difference that your weight loss has made! Congratulations on doing so well :D

I admire you for being able to work at home…I look forward to going to work, it makes me look forward to coming home. I’m a bit of a social whore too, I guess. Haha

  6. I would love to be able to do that with my son! I’m jealous.
